Thought leadership - Provide thought leadership to business and functional group leaders on definition, prioritization, and execution of strategic initiatives, across both organic and inorganic initiatives to accomplish strategic objectives and targets.
Strategic planning - Shape and influence strategies and strategic planning by acting as a key driver of all strategic issues related to business effectiveness and operational efficiency. Lead strategic and business planning processes, ensuring alignment with CIBC business strategies and priorities
Research and analysis – Ensure robust, competitive intelligence through formal research, industry surveys and through contacts within the industry in order to maintain strong awareness of financial market place, evolving market dynamics, competitive strategies and client needs. Conduct ongoing market scans and analysis of potential non-organic growth opportunities and develop list of potential assets for acquisition / partnership
Relationship management - Acting as a focal liaison point of contact across line of business and functional teams to ensure alignment of strategy to financial plans and targets and corporate governance requirements.
You can demonstrate a minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience within finance, strategy or a business role. You have thorough knowledge of financial institutions, financial services practices and principles sufficient to analyze and interpret complex concepts and apply these in innovative ways. It is an asset if you have a MBA, CFA, CA or CPA designation.

Job Description
What you’ll be doing
As a Senior Director, Enterprise Strategy, you will play a key role in maximizing the value of CIBC’s portfolio of businesses through the identification, assessment and execution of strategic initiatives and transactions (e.g., organic growth initiatives, acquisitions, divestitures, partnerships and joint ventures). You will work in close collaboration with the bank’s business units and functional groups in order to identify opportunities for growth and to increase the value of CIBC’s businesses. As a member of the team, you will be focused on supporting the development and implementation of business strategies and play an important role with the execution of initiatives and transitions to enable CIBC to deliver on its overall strategic priorities and goals. You will be expected to provide a broad range of analytical, financial modelling, research, presentation preparation and project management support.
At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.
