The CMO group is expanding rapidly across the globe , leading the enterprise-wide transformation for Pfizer’s marketing future: a best-in-class commercial model that is faster, more effective and efficient , and boosts return on investment and impact.

      The Enterprise Launch Approach (ELA) is how Pfizer prepares for launch across functions, business units and markets. It harnesses our collective advantage to elevate the strategic quality , sharpen operational readiness , and shorten launch timelines to consistently elevate excellent launches. ELA standardizes the pathway and tools for Launch Teams to develop truly Integrated Launch Plans.

      The Senior Director , Launch Excellence role is an opportunity to catalyse the future of marketing excellence at Pfizer for launch assets , which currently include 19 products anticipating launch, in addition to those to potentially come from pipeline and acquisitions . You will sit at the critical intersection where launch teams build core strategic foundations of their brands while incorporating new tech nological and agency capabilities , applying new standards of launch excellence, and helping brands to assess and address critical performance blockers and opportunities .

      The role directly reports to the Launch and Portfolio Maximisation Lead, who is a member of the Global Marketing LT, and will be responsible for serving as strategic partner and honest broker to launch teams and senior leaders . This important role is focused on contributing to the brand launch strategies, diagnosing critical launch plan opportunities and risks, and act as an expert partner to launch teams to help elevate launch excellence.

      Success in this role will include working across therapeutic areas providing bold strategic direction for executing launch planning and marketing excellence; demonstrat ing improvements in the quality, consistency, and rigor of launch plans; and accelerated development of new, best-in-class launch planning and marketing capabilities.

      How You Will Achieve It

      • Partner with and provide hands-on guidance and contributions to global launch asset teams from T-36 (3-yrs from launch) to T+12 (1yr post launch) . P rovide teams the benefits of your launch expertise and insights to inform launch strategies. Leverage best practices from other launch teams, and represent Senior Leader expectations to inform and elevate launch strategies.

      • Instil a focus on the key strategic components of brand building, known as the Launch Stage Gates (LSGs): Launch Typing, Brand Positioning, Market Development Plans, Integrated Launch Plans.

      • Provide qualitative and quantitative objective perspectives on LSGs throughout the 3-year launch planning period, evaluat ing strategic, operational , and resource readiness against the Pfizer marketing excellence standard s; provide an honest and objective review to Enterprise Senior Leadership to inform progress and changes.

      • Serve as the conduit of the CMO to your group of launch assets, liaising between brand teams and the CMO

      • Partner with prioritized GLocal leaders and teams to troubleshoot critical launch plan and marketing performance gaps, leveraging your own subject matter expertise with marketing excellence frameworks

      • Support BUs/ brand teams to implement new marketing model to strengthen launch plans and elevate marketing capabilities with the new Publicis data engine and IPG Creative agency model

      • Act as a key enabler in building a strong culture and driving the CMOs excellence agenda .

      • Be a strong collaborator, active listener, agile learner, and helpful partner to brand teams to jointly elevate launch strategy excellence.

      Qualifications

      Must-Have

      • Bachelor's degree

      • At least 15 + years of experience in marketing across a number of categories/ industries

      • Successful track record of creating and executing marketing strategies in major markets and as part of global marketing team(s), with accountability for decisions and business outcomes; clear experience s with launch brands is essential

      • Strong subject matter expertise in the core fundamentals of strategic marketing, i.e. Brand Positioning, Creative Development, Launch Execution, and Measurement

      • Strong analytical prowess to conduct root cause analyses to diagnoses and prioritize the right problem/solution

      • Track record of demonstrating courage and confidence in speaking up

      • Track record of working collaboratively across functions and geographies

      • Executive presence and demonstrated ability to effectively partner with, and influence, senior leaders and colleagues at all levels of the organization

      • Lead cross-functional and cross-business projects and initiatives, identifying risks and removing roadblocks to enable the teams to achieve successful delivery

      • Strong writing, presentation and influencing skills

      • Demonstrate ability to thrive under pressure, to take accountability and to meet deadlines

      • Strong project and time management and organizational skills

      • Discretion and trustworthiness in dealing with confidential information

      • Ability to manage and coach peers and agile teams

      • Role model for PFE Values (Courage, Excellence, Equity, Joy)

      • Role requires flexibility to work with US time-zone on regular basis

      • Minimum of 15 years of marketing management experience

      • Launch experience s across multiple therapeutic areas of key focus for Pfizer

      • Broad knowledge of Life Sciences and healthcare ecosystems

      The annual base salary for this position ranges from $191,300.00 to $309,600.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 22.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
