      Essential Functions

      • Building and Leading the Marketing Technology Team
        • Recruit, mentor, and develop a specialized team with expertise in various marketing technologies.
        • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and adaptability within the team.
      • Strategy Development & Execution
        • Craft a comprehensive marketing technology roadmap that integrates advanced digital tools, data analytics platforms, and customer relationship management systems.
        • Ensure alignment of marketing technology initiatives with overall business objectives and digital transformation strategies.
      • Marketing Technology Infrastructure
        • Oversee the selection and management of a diverse set of tools, including but not limited to CRM systems (like Salesforce), marketing automation platforms (such as Braze,Sitecore, Adobe Campaign, Marketo, HubSpot), digital analytics tools (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics), Loyalty Platforms, Paid Media and customer data platforms (CDPs).
        • Champion the integration of these systems with broader enterprise architectures, working closely with Data Engineering to ensure seamless data flow and integrity.
      • Data-Driven Marketing and Analytics
        • Collaborate with Data Science teams to leverage predictive analytics and AI-driven insights for personalized marketing campaigns and customer segmentation.
        • Develop and maintain a marketing data ecosystem that supports advanced analytics, working with Data Engineering for data pipeline and infrastructure needs.
      • Change Management and Collaboration
        • Act as a liaison between the marketing department and IT, Digital, Data Science, and Data Engineering teams to foster collaborative efforts and ensure technology alignment.
        • Drive digital transformation in marketing through education, training, and change management initiatives.
      • Communication & Stakeholder Management
        • Regularly communicate project status, milestones, and roadblocks to senior executives.
        • Establish and manage a comprehensive data communication plan for internal and external stakeholders.
        • Facilitate project meetings, workshops, and training sessions to align multiple departments around data initiatives.

      Job Summary

      Focus Brands ($4B, 6,600 units, www.focusbrands.com) is looking for a visionary and execution savy Senior Director of Marketing Technologies. Focus Brands is an Atlanta-based leading franchise developer of global multi-channel foodservice brands with $5.5B rev, 6,600 units, and 3,000 employees. Brands include Auntie Anne's®, Carvel®, Cinnabon®, Jamba®, Moe's Southwest Grill®, McAlister's Deli®, Schlotzsky's®, and Seattle's Best Coffee®. Private equity firm Roark Capital with $35B AUM has a controlling interest in Focus Brands, as well as Dunkin Brands, Inspire Brands, and another 100 companies. The role is an in-office role and will be based in Atlanta, relocation assistance will be provided for the right candidate.

      The role is a new position reporting to the recently appointed SVP of Digital Data and Marketing Technologies Manuel Valdes and will be part of this leadership team. The Senior Director of Marketing Technologies is a strategic role responsible for overseeing the marketing technology stack and digital omnichannel transformation initiatives within the organization. This leader will collaborate closely with Digital, Data Science, and Data Engineering teams to develop and implement a cohesive technology strategy that enhances customer engagement, drives marketing efficiency, and leverages data for actionable insights.

      The Sr Director Marketing Technologies is a critical role focused on leading the company's efforts to leverage marketing technologies to enable growth and value generation to Focus Brands in an Omnichannel fashion. The Sr Director Marketing Technologies is responsible for transforming, maturing, and modernizing our organization’s marketing technologies capabilities to support rapid growth, engagement and online penetration towards our goal.

      With a mandate to provide strategic direction and hands-on leadership, this role is tasked with building a best-in-class Omnichannel marketing technolgies organization from the ground up.

      The Sr Director Marketing Technologies is foundational to the realization of the company’s overall technology modernization strategy and digital transformation goals. Therefore, this role is not only strategic but also highly operational, requiring a mix of visionary thinking, technical depth, and practical execution.

      As the lead advocate for marketing technologies across the company, the Sr Director Marketing Technologies will liaise with other departments and units to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions. Furthermore, the role will involve significant collaboration with external partners, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure that the company is at the forefront of marketing technologies and practices. It is an opportunity for a transformational leader who can align marketing technology initiatives with business objectives to impact the bottom line positively.

      Education

      • A master’s degree or advanced qualifications in a related field is highly preferred.

      Work Experience

      • Experience as Director/Sr Dir level technology executive with $6B+ organization prefrerred
      • 12+ years of technology leadership experience; ideally, comes from complex, multi-brand, multi-store unit, omni channel retailer, hospitality, or QSR/food organization.
      • Minimum of 12 years of experience in marketing technology, digital marketing, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
      • Experience in leading omnichannel transformation projects, with an emphasis on integrating new technologies into existing marketing ecosystems.
      • Relevant Advanced Experience in Marketing, Business, Information Technology, or related field is required.
      • Must have led or played a significant role in a data transformation initiative at an organization of comparable scale and complexity. The ideal candidate will have experience in setting strategic data priorities and translating them into tactical plans that drive measurable impact.
      • At least 12 years of progressive leadership experience in data engineering, data sciences, or related fields. Must have overseen multi-disciplinary teams of at least 10 people.
      • Must have a proven track record of working with various departments such as Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Supply Chain Management, and Legal to leverage data for operational and strategic needs.
      • Demonstrated experience in managing budgets and vendor relationships, especially those relating to data technologies and services, is essential.
      • Proven track record of successful collaboration with IT, Digital, Data Science, and Data Engineering teams, demonstrating the ability to bridge the gap between marketing and technology.
      • Progressive career growth in technology and data roles, culminating in senior leadership positions. A track record of successful delivery, transformation, and value creation is crucial

      Skills & Abilities

      • Deep understanding and hands-on experience with a broad range of marketing technologies, including CRM, marketing automation, Paid Media, Loyalyty, digital analytics, CDPs, SEO/SEM tools, and social media management platforms under an Omnichannel Environment.
      • Strong vendor management skills and experience in evaluating and implementing new marketing technologies.
      • Excellent communication skills, capable of discussing complex technical concepts with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
      • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex, technical ideas to non-technical stakeholders, are required. Boardroom presence and the ability to influence at all levels is a must.
