      About the Position

      The Senior eDiscovery Analyst will work to serve the Attorneys in the Firm's Litigation Practice Department, working collaboratively with the Firm Director of Litigation Technology and Support. The Sr. eDiscovery Analyst is responsible for assisting with implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting all aspects of software applications and network systems identified for litigation support needs. The Sr. eDiscovery Analyst is responsible for performing and troubleshooting all processes handled by the Litigation Support department as well as recommending solutions for litigation support needs at the firm.

      The Sr. eDiscovery Analyst role involves substantial autonomy, requiring the candidate to be a self-starter who can work effectively with minimal supervision. This position emphasizes direct engagement with case teams, demanding a candidate with extensive prior experience and knowledge in eDiscovery processes. The primary responsibility includes data ingestion into discovery tools, collaborating closely with attorney teams for review preparation, guiding them through the review process, conducting quality control, and managing document production while ensuring privilege protection. A training period is provided, yet the incoming analyst expects to possess a comprehensive background in the field. The role demands flexibility for overtime work within a dynamic, fast-paced litigation support department with high standards for performance.

      Essential Duties and Responsibilities

      • Manages document production processes (hard copy, electronic, etc.): Collects material from client, opposing parties, and third parties (hard copies, electronic data, physical evidence). Maintains chain of custody. Tracks materials through the process. Designs and implements document review systems. Prepares privilege logs. Manages logistics of production of documents (hard copy, images, native).
      • Manages technical logistics for depositions (remote hookups, electronic transcripts, videography, synchronization).
      • Manages trial preparation and trial support: Compiles and tracks trial exhibits. Prepares pretrial documents. Sets up and manages trial offices and trial support (e.g. remote office setup and logistics).
      • Manages relationships with supporting vendors (graphics, court reporters, trial support, hotels, etc.)
      • Provides administrator level support for litigation support applications and hardware. This includes the ability to recommend, develop, maintain and troubleshoot databases and other litigation support software applications.
      • Load and manipulate data to/from litigation support software applications, perform data normalization, global edits, overlay or merge data into existing records, index databases, and build document productions.
      • Quality check data and image files using litigation support applications such as CS DISCO, Everlaw and Relativity.
      • Create, maintain and troubleshoot litigation support software applications, databases and networks.
      • Assist in coordinating timeframes and deliverables for Litigation Support projects.
      • Assist with automated litigation support services, researching new and emerging litigation support and case management technologies.
      • Practice Quality Assurance and perform Quality control measures on all processes performed.

      Education and/or Experience

      • 5+ years of experience and experience managing out-of-town trial offices for cases that have gone to verdict
      • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
      • Planning and organization skills, including the ability to manage a number of projects concurrently
      • A proactive approach and the ability to work "hands-on" as required
      • Knowledge of litigation support technology including database applications (CS DISCO, Everlaw, Relativity).
      • Work experience at a large law firm or litigation support vendor.
      • Ability to work independently or as part of a cross functional team in a production environment.
      • Knowledge of the litigation process, from initial filing through trial, for effective communication with legal teams.
      • Good problem solving ability, work under strict deadlines in a legal environment and the ability to interact with all levels of staff and attorneys.
      • A self-starter who desires to show ownership and commitment to the job
      • Able to preserve confidentiality and exercise discretion.
      • Experience coordinating vendor contracts and projects.
      • Support of trial, arbitration and mediation technology requirements.

      Compensation

      Allen Matkins is an Equal Opportunity Employer and offers a competitive compensation & benefits package. The anticipated base salary range for this full-time role is $110,000 - $150,000 per year. Actual salary will depend upon a number of factors, including, but not limited to, relevant experience, job-related skills, qualifications, and location.

      The base salary range displayed on the job posting reflects the estimated range for new hire salaries for the position. The actual offered base salary will be determined by work location and additional factors, including, but not limited to, relevant experience, job-related skills and qualifications. The pay range is subject to change at any time dependent on a variety of internal and external business factors.
