      This is a hybrid role that can be performed in Overland Park, KS, Bellevue, WA, Reston, VA, Atlanta, GA, Frisco, TX or Denver, CO.

      Our Vulnerability Management team is in the business of trust and reliability. We create, maintain the Scanning Infrastructure and Operations function within the Vulnerability Management organization team comprised of full-time employee individual contributors, managed services, and external partners. The functions include operating and maintaining T-Mobile's vulnerability scanning infrastructure, as well as assisting vulnerability response and remediation tasks with partner and vendor teams.

      The Sr Cybersecurity Engineer will be responsible for vulnerability assessments to support compliance audits (PCI, FedRamp, IL4), partnering with multiple functional groups including Compliance, Legal, Security Architecture, Product Security and Engineering teams. Performs technical security assessments, code reviews and vulnerability testing to highlight risk and remediate associated findings while helping T-Mobile teams and partners improve security. Works closely with other T-Mobile Engineers to design and build proactive methods to enhance our security posture.

      This position coordinates auditing, analyzing, coordinating, and implementing security measures enhance security posture within mobile device, IoT device, enterprise line of business applications, cloud, data analytics, and core and carrier network technologies as well as other business units as needed. Collaborate with Engineering and Operations Teams to address security vulnerabilities found via PSIRTs, scans or breaches. Also, drive and support network governance.

      Job Responsibilities:

      • Main Responsibilities

      • Assist in configuring vulnerability assessment tools and services as well as scan execution, researching, analysis, corrective recommendations, and summarizing with reporting results
      • Maintain awareness of emerging threat actors, patterns, and techniques
      • Assist in asset inventory management
      • Ensure actionable tickets are filed correctly
      • Perform threat modeling and actor profiling in coordination with our Threat Intelligence team
      • Coordinate scanning activities with multi-functional teams and collaborate with all levels of the organization
      • Communicate scanning results to stakeholders
      • Provide concrete guidance for vulnerability remediation. Identify and eliminate false positives and false negatives
      • Assist in VM tools, services, and platforms
      • Design software and mechanisms that continuously raise the safety and confidence bar for the vulnerability detection ecosystem
      • Implementing monitoring and metrics
      • Understanding of the OSI model, as well as IPv4/IPv6 protocol suite
      • Solid understanding of information systems security standards/practices (e.g., access control and system hardening, system audit and log file monitoring, security policies, patch management, and incident handling).
      • Collaborates with architects to plan, design, implement, and improve new capabilities, enhancements, solutions, and/or platforms.
      • Assumes a leadership role in advocating internally and externally for compliance to security measures to protect corporate applications and environments.
      • Motivates collaborators through disagreements, delivering solutions to address sophisticated security issues
      • Leads security, compliance, and risk assessments on projects throughout project lifecycle
      • Improves process efficiency by creating and implementing creative and sustainable changes to existing deployment methodologies
      • Leads the identification of security needs and recommends plans/resolutions
      • Implements, tests and monitors info security improvements
      • Collaborate with groups such as application support, engineering ops, finance, privacy, risk management, etc.
      • Leads information security policy lifecycle throughout, including intake, creation, review, approval, implementation, publishing, communication and maintenance
      • Completes security projects driven by groups both internal and external to info security
      • Mentors peers and junior team members in security technologies, enterprise solution design and facilitation and effective customer interaction
      • Experience with implementation of various threat modeling approaches pertaining to one or more of the following STRIDE, PASTA, TRIKE, ATTACK TREE, DREAD, KILL CHAIN, CAPEC, Mobile Application threat model, Cyber Threat Tree, and data flow diagram
      • Advanced understanding of IP/Security solutions and technologies applicable to the Wireless Network Architecture
      • Experience with the analysis of underlying technologies that form the solution necessary for the application of threat identification, analysis, and thread model design
      • The threat model depicts trust boundary, threat agent(s), threat vector(s), and safeguard(s) vital to protect person, asset, data, and T-Mobile brand
      • Also responsible for other Duties/Projects as assigned by business management as needed

      • 5+ years of professional information security/security engineering/software development experience and at least 2 years of professional vulnerability management experience
      • Understanding of controls (e.g. access control, auditing, authentication, encryption, integrity, physical security, and application security)
      • Experience with a wide variety of vulnerability identification tools
      • Must be well versed in development lifecycles from a threat, asset, and vulnerability perspective
      • Strong knowledge of operating systems such as Linux, as well as MacOS environments, microservices on cloud native stacks, encryption schemas and algorithms, various authorization and authentication mechanisms/software, network monitoring and sniffing, TCP/IP networks, and vulnerability management
      • Experience with vulnerability scanners, vulnerability management systems, patch management and cloud-based / host-based security systems
      • Knowledge of vulnerability scoring systems (CVSS)
      • Qualifications

      • Bachelor's Degree in info security technology or related field, OR equivalent work experience
      • Able to work expanded hours based on business need
      • Experience in scripting/software development
      • 4-7 years' work experience within information security technology or related field
      • Experience with incident handling for security breaches
      • Authority in security subject areas
      • 2-4 years Technical Project Management experience
      • Experience with high level design architecture, security technologies, Networking, web services and SOA. Understanding of encryption, obfuscation, tokenization technologies
      • Medium to advance knowledge of Scripting tools (Python/Perl/Shell/HTML/PHP)
      • Knowledge of federal and compliance regulations e.g. SOX, PCI and CPNI
      • Familiarity with load balancers (ex – A10, F5), firewalls (ex – CheckPoint), Venafi, MDM (ex - Mobile Iron), Cloud (ex - AWS, Azure), Malware Protection (ex -FireEye), Advanced Persistent Threats (ex - Damballa), Privileged Accounts (ex – CyberArk), SIEM (ex – ArcSight), Log and Event (ex – Splunk), Intrusion IDS/IPS (ex – Symantec) , Cloud Platform (ex – PCF, Docker), Scanning (ex – Qualys), AppSec (ex - Veracode)
      • Solid understanding of T-Mobile’s network elements and how they work together (EIT, Engineering and 3rd Party)
      • Strong presentation skills to large and small audiences
      • In-depth knowledge of security standard processes in large-scale environments
      • Strong problem solving and remediation skills
      • Self-starter with a track record of meeting rigid timelines
      • Always act with tact and integrity, and work with a variety of individuals in a positive and productive manner
      • Strong verbal and interpersonal skills with diverse multi-functional groups and the ability to communicate effectively to small and large groups
      • Knowledge of information security policies and regulatory controls (per team function)
      • Demonstrable knowledge of current technological trends and developments in the area of info security
      • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize tasks to complete independently;
      • Ability to remain level-headed under pressure
      • An expert in many facets of network and information security, including Firewall policy design, SSL Certificate management, vulnerability analysis and mitigation, and other topics as assigned
      • CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) and/or CCSK and/or CCSP and/or CISA/CISM certification a plus
      • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or GSEC certification a plus

      Colorado Pay Range: $117,100 - $158,400

      • The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the state listed. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors , such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay may be above or below this range.

Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year.       Washington Pay Range : $128,000.00 - $173,200.00
