      A Day in the Life

      Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

      • Plans, directs and implements all aspects of the company's design and development of new medical device products or software systems.
      • May develop, evaluate, implement and maintain technical quality assurance and control systems or reliability systems and standards pertaining to materials, techniques, or company products.
      • Oversees the investigation and evaluation of existing technologies.
      • Guides the conceptualization of new methodologies, materials, machines, processes or products.
      • Directs the development of new concepts from initial design to market release.
      • Manages feasibility studies of the design to determine if capable of functioning as intended.
      • Monitors documentation maintenance throughout all phases of research and development.
      • Organizes the coordination of activities with outside suppliers and consultants to ensure timely delivery.
      • Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

      Must Have: Minimum Requirements

      • Minimum B.S., M.S. or Ph.D. degree in in Human Factors Engineering, Cognitive Psychology, Computer Science, or related engineering field.
      • Minimum 5 years or more experience as a manager in medical device, healthcare , technology , or similar regulated industry .

      • Minimum of 5 years of relevant human factors/usability engineering experience in hardware and software product development industry .

      • Ability to lead team to practical solutions that satisfy regulatory, engineering, and business needs with limited resources and time.

      • Ability to effectively direct the activities of a human factors/usability engineering team supporting multiple simultaneous development projects.

      • Ability to work seamlessly across various departments ( e.g. engineering, marketing, regulatory) and levels of management within the organization.

      • Excellent collaboration skills.

      • Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills. Ability to present work of human factors engineering to executive management.

      • Strong negotiation, conflict management, and influence management skills

      • Communicate clearly, in written, verbal, and visual forms, being equally facile with technical and non-technical team members.

      • Ability to interface with customers in a highly professional manner.

      • Ability to apply human centered design and human factors/usability engineering principles to product research, development, and design.

      • Ability to travel internationally as well as domestically (~25%)

      Nice to Have

      • Working knowledge of diabetes therapy, clinical data, business plans and competitive products
