      Are you an Environmental Advisor looking for an exciting new role to provide environmental and regulatory support? In this role, you will apply your knowledge and experience to inform and support business unit processes, including risk management, learning and competencies, communications, procedures, work plans, compliance and inspection programs. You will be an integral part of the Environment, Health and Safety team at our Montreal refinery. You will also be part of a team of highly motivated professionals working in a refinery that produces gasoline, distillates, asphalt, heavy fuel oil, petrochemicals, solvents and lubricant feedstock.

      You will be responsible for regulatory monitoring, environmental reporting and tracking, and implementing environmental best practices to support the Montreal refinery and Quebec distribution terminal operations. The position requires the ability to influence to ensure operational discipline and continuous improvement.


      Minimum Requirements:

      • Fluent in French, with functional written and spoken English; please submit your resume in FRENCH

      • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, or related discipline

      • 8-10 years experience in a similar role; experience in refining or heavy industry preferred

      • Knowledge of federal, provincial and municipal environmental legislation and regulations

      • Experience in emissions reporting (PDGES, SPEDE)

      • Collaborative skills and ability to build strong, positive relationships with diverse groups

      • Ability to anticipate potential problems, identify out-of-the-ordinary conditions

      • Knowledge of software such as TankESP or Emisfer would be considered an asset


      Responsibilities:

      • Ensure compliance with water, air and soil regulations

      • Provide environmental compliance advice to various refinery teams

      • Work proactively with regulatory bodies to ensure approvals and permits are in place, manage relationships with stakeholders and government bodies

      • Participate in project management of environmental requirements and evaluate control measures as projects progress

      • Support the planning of major plant shutdowns to ensure safe and efficient execution

      • Ensure risk management processes and tools are used to effectively identify hazards, provide controls to mitigate identified risks

      • Develop and maintain processes for declarations, potential investigations and analyses, with the aim of developing appropriate corrective and preventive measures


      Location and other Key Details:

      • You will work out of our Montréal refinery, located at 11701 Sherbrooke Street East

      • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday with the possibility of overtime, depending on business needs

      • Our business professional roles follow internal compensation guidelines and the pay band will generally be based years of experience and scope of work
