      SUMMARY OF POSITION

      The Sr. Equipment Engineer performs activities relating to new and existing equipment and processes within the Norwich site in support of Alvogen and third-party pharmaceutical development projects. The Sr. Equipment Engineer is also a key resource for engineered solutions and advanced troubleshooting exercises.

      ORGANIZATION STRUCTURE

      The Equipment Engineer reports to the Sr. Director of Operations and Pharmaceutical Technologies.

      RESPONSIBILITIES

      Technical Responsibilities:

      • Specify, purchase, install, and start up new process equipment (In both PDTS and Operations)
      • Perform product driven upgrades for process equipment
      • Write/execute equipment qualifications (IQ, OQ, PQ)
      • Develop facility equipment layout drawings
      • Lead or participate in equipment related problem solving/debugging activities
      • Execute machine development projects, design new equipment and sub-components to improve equipment operation
      • Interface with external equipment suppliers, system integrators, architectural design firms, and other suppliers to deliver robust process equipment systems and facilities
      • Develop/Write User Requirement Specifications
      • Write/execute Factory Acceptance and Site Acceptance Tests
      • Provide technical support to the maintenance and operating technicians for advanced troubleshooting and root cause identification
      • Provide technical scope and cost for new equipment and engineered solutions

      Administrative Responsibilities:

      • Write Capital Authorization Requests to lead the funding of new projects
      • Maintain records, track project expenditures against allocated funds, maintain project schedule
      • Report project status on a regular basis, ensure results are in line with production requirements and standards
      • Train operating and maintenance personnel on new equipment and systems
      • Write/update equipment SOP’s as required
      • Establish new equipment operating procedures and spare parts stock
      • Perform technical activities on an individual basis, or in a project team-based environment

      QUALIFICATIONS

      1.Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline, preferably Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, with 6 years of Pharmaceutical Equipment Engineering related experience or an associate degree in a technical discipline with 8 years of Pharmaceutical Equipment Engineering related experience.

      2. This role requires strong technical leadership, technical writing and communication skills, the ability to understand and interpret technical drawings, and proficiency with a currently supported version of AutoCAD®, MS Excel and Word.

      3. The ability to handle multiple priorities is necessary for success.

      4. Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.

      GMP DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY

      1. Approval of change controls that relate to or affect systems in areas of assigned responsibility.
      2. Approval of validation and commissioning documents in areas of assigned responsibility.
      3. Product release and rejection decisions - Provide technical assistance to QA as needed.

      This role will offer a base salary that is commensurate with experience and demonstrated skills in the $90,000 - $105,000 range.
