Responsible for month-end close tasks including preparation and posting of journal entries, review of monthly activity for reasonableness and assisting others to resolve accounting close issues.
Analyze and summarize financial information for various entities and business units as required for management reporting.
Responsible for preparing monthly financial reports including comparative period variance review and explanations to support external reporting requirements.
Lead ad-hoc accounting projects and other corporate initiatives as required.
Liaise with internal and external auditors ensuring timely delivery of audit requests and resolution of outstanding issues.
Support the Corporate Office Consolidation Team with relevant data for interim and annual regulatory reporting requirements.
Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and analyze for reasonableness of activity and compliance with accounting standards and policies.
Collaborate with individuals from various teams and other offices regarding month-end close and other financial reporting deliverables.
Evaluate processes and controls for continuous improvement recommendations and efficiencies.
Research and document the accounting treatment of business transactions in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards.
Support internal control compliance.
The legal authorization to work in the US for any US employer without the need for sponsorship
Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting
5+ years of financial accounting, reporting and/or audit experience (IFRS experience a plus)
Accounting experience with a global Oil & Gas company preferred
Public accounting experience preferred
CPA license preferred
Prior experience with SAP or similar accounting system required
Advanced in Microsoft Excel
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong time management skills with the ability to take initiative and prioritize work
Accuracy and attention to detail
Strong research, organizational and project management skills
Understanding of financial accounting and reporting requirements in a fast-paced global public company environment

The Sr. Financial Reporting Accountant will support the CFO Financial Accounting and Reporting team based onsite at our office in The Woodlands, Texas. This position directly supports the Financial Accounting & Reporting Manager with a broad range of month-end close responsibilities and financial accounting duties.
