- Create and monitor a system of controls, procedures, and forms for fixed assets and capital projects.
- Recommend to management updates to accounting policies related to fixed assets and capitalization
- Assign tag numbers to fixed assets and ensure FAM interface is current
- Record fixed asset acquisitions and dispositions in the accounting system.
- Track the compilation of project costs into fixed asset accounts, and close out those accounts once the related projects have been completed.
- Reconcile the balance in the fixed asset subsidiary ledger to the summary-level account in the general ledger.
- Calculate depreciation for all fixed assets.
- Review and update the detailed schedule of fixed assets, depreciation expense and accumulated depreciation.
- Investigate the potential obsolescence of fixed assets.
- Conduct periodic physical counts and impairment reviews for intangible assets and fixed assets
- Conduct analyses related to fixed assets and capital projects as requested by management.
- Prepare audit schedules relating to fixed assets and assist the auditors in their inquiries.
- Assist with the preparation of property tax returns.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 3+ years of fixed asset accounting experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with internal and external parties of the Company.
- Knowledge of accounting principles in accordance with US GAAP
- Knowledge of applicable Microsoft Applications (Excel)
- Ability to identify complex problems, review related information, and apply innovative thinking to develop, evaluation, and recommend options and implement solutions
- Experience with NetSuite ERP System or Other ERP general ledger software
- Experience with Fixed Asset Modules and ERP system interface
- Veterans a plus

THE ROLE
The Sr. Fixed Asset Accountant will be responsible for recording the cost of newly acquired fixed assets (both tangible and intangible), tracking existing fixed assets, reconciling and tracking capital projects, recording depreciation and amortization, and accounting for the disposition of fixed assets. Accounts and reconciles general ledger, fixed asset module software interface, account balances and providing relevant schedules. This role will support the BRCC Accounting team with the external audit process, and various other projects as may be necessary. This role provides aid to the accounting and finance team to manage our company’s relationships, both internally and externally, supports the external audit process and maintains an understanding of US GAAP and how it applies to the organization.
