- Develop, implement, lead and maintain a culture of continuous process improvements among internal and external partners.

- Prepare and implement standardized work instructions, floor layouts, and material storage configurations.
- Set up and improve space utilization and distribution productivity through design and implementation of automation systems that include storage racking, conveyors, sorters, pick modules, etc.
- Develop short and long-term facility space planning tools, processes, detailed layouts, and timing to optimize space across warehousing and fulfillment functions.
- Identify, design, plan, implement, validate and sustain new technology investments and material handling equipment appropriate to optimizing network of warehouses and support business growth.
- Identify, plan, and execute process efficiency opportunities throughout the organization, including simplification, standardization, implementation and sustainability.
- Lead multiple concurrent projects of Bunzl cross-functional teams including external vendor partners.
- Promote transparency with Leadership, embrace accountability.
- Partner with and provide proactive support to colleagues within Operations, Procurement, Finance, IT, Contractors, etc. to maximize profitability, efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- End to end project management for continuous improvement projects; Drive CIP to closure on open issues or concerns with urgency.
- Eliminate waste in current processes to improve operations productivity and efficiency; lead initiatives to drive efficiencies.
- Identify key performance metrics that drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Proficient in WMS; experience in Koerber 1 is a plus.
- Skilled in use of Microsoft suites of Office products, specifically MS Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio, and Project
- Knowledge of programming language skills such as PowerBI, SQL skills are a plus.
- Lead and drive assigned projects to completion on time and within budget.
- Meet or Exceed defined KPIs for assigned warehouse environments.
- Increase warehouse labor savings and identify opportunities to reduce warehouse expenses.
- Regularly identify and communicate opportunities for additional revenue or operational efficiencies. (increased PBIT)
- Bachelor of Science degree in STEM with Industrial/Systems Engineering preferred; equivalent field or proven experience in engineering field.
- Minimum of Green Belt certification in Lean, Black Belt preferred (or equivalent experience)
- Project management skills, including developing project plans, timelines/schedules/budgets, proposed layouts, resource requirements, ROI calculation, etc.
- Project Management (PMP) certification preferred along with proven project management experience.
- Ability to successfully interface with all levels and areas of the organization and provide clear and concise project summaries.
- Ability to lead complex cross-functional strategic projects, facilitate Kaizens, utilize and teach DMAIC techniques, and effectively drive value and change within organization.
- Familiarity with WMS, WLM, WCS and sortation controls systems
- Travel between 25-50% of the time in support of leading change across the warehouse network

The Senior Industrial Engineer’s primary responsibilities are to lead continuous improvement initiatives and drive efficiencies and automation of Bunzl Retail Services (BRS) logistics’ network warehouses. This position is responsible for optimization of the physical warehouse facilities. The Senior Industrial Engineer is responsible for acting as a proactive liaison with other subject matter experts and peers within each BRS function (Operations, Procurement, Finance, IT, etc.) This position is responsible for data driven decisions that support defined KPIs as well as positive outcomes for customers and PBIT performance for BRS.
