Responsibilities Job Summary: Senior Flight Operations Instructor delivers first rate instruction for Spirit Airlines Pilot Initial, Recurrent/CQ, Captain Upgrade, Requalification curriculum and other projects as assigned. The training environment will include but not limited to: the classroom, emergency training equipment mockup facility, and level 4 Flight Training Devices. Responsibilities: Committed “Servant Leader”: the success of your team and students is priority. Professional Airline Pilot Instruction includes but not limited to the following areas: Initial New Hire curriculum: Spirit Airlines Basic Indoc, General Subjects, emergency training and drills, etc. (classroom, mockup facility). A320 normal, abnormal, and emergency procedures, aircraft systems integration, performance/limitations (Flight Training Device, Level 4). Continuing Qualifications (CQ): General subjects, aircraft systems, crew resource management, leadership command and mentorship (classroom). Captain Upgrade: leadership command and mentorship (classroom). Collaborate with training team to identify, develop, and implement effective training methodologies. Subject matter expert, assist in the development and continuous improvement of courseware and/or training aids. Exhibit a commitment to the established professional aviation instructional standards. Strict adherence to Spirit Airlines FAA approved training syllabus. Excellent instructing, facilitating and mentoring skills. Establish and maintains effective communication channels with applicable stakeholders. Proficient with Microsoft Office suite; Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel. Lead or collaborate in assigned training related projects or programs. Available to travel to support training events at other Spirit Airline Training Centers (LAS, DFW, MCO, FLL) Must be able to work flexible schedule as needed by the training schedule requirements. Additional duties or special projects as assigned by Flight Operations Management. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree or previous airline experience Experience: 5 plus years’ experience as an Airline/Aviation instructor preferred 5 plus years’ experience as FAR 121, 135 pilot or equivalent foreign operation Certifications and Ratings: ATP preferred or commercial certificate with instrument and multi-engine ratings. A320 Type Rating (preferred) or equivalent type. Functional and Behavioral Competencies Demonstrated professional Integrity Respectful Intelligent Works well with others Excellent ability to manage change Effective problem solver Seeks and takes initiative Proactive learner Estimated Travel: Domestic & International travel under 25% of time Physical Effort: Exert up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Physical demands are in excess of those of Sedentary work. Light work usually requires walking or standing to a significant degree.
