      Raytheon provides end-to-end space solutions – from ground control systems to on-orbit sensors – to keep our customers informed and ahead of the threat. Each day, ground stations receive vast amounts of data from satellites in orbit. Using complex algorithms, they process all the bits and bytes received and turn them into useable information for the end users who consume this data. As the volume of data grows, ground stations need to evolve and adapt. In this role you will work onsite with a team of skilled Software Engineers developing Satellite Ground Stations Software in Java and C++.

      What You Will Do

      • Develop and maintain Java and C++ based backend applications for satellite ground systems in both Windows and Linux in the full software development life cycle (SDLC).

      • Perform as a SCRUM Master and Team Lead.

      • Use up-to-date tools including Angular, Typescript/Javascript, ActiveMQ, AJAX, Hit, CI/CD pipelines, Docker containerization.

      • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement robust server-side solutions.

      • Modify and improve existing codebases for enhanced performance and scalability.

      • Conduct software design and code reviews, integrating best practices and innovations.

      • Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle, ensuring adherence to Agile principles.

      • Participate in integration and project milestone completion under guidance from supervisors.

      Qualifications You Must Have

      • Typically requires a bachelor’s in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 5 years of prior engineering experience.

      • Experience in the Command and Control Domain

      • Experience in both Java and C++

      • Experience being a Scrum Master and Team Lead

      • Experience with development tools (e.g. Angular, JavaScript, ActiveMQ, AJAX, Containerization)

      • Ability to obtain a U.S. government issued SECRET security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

      Qualifications We Prefer

      • Security+ certification

      • DevOps experience

      • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

      The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

      This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
