      Req#: 643436BR
      We are Lockheed Martin
Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company and its research and development line-of-business, The Skunk Works, seeks a motivated and enthusiastic candidate to join the Low Observables team (Signature Management & Survivability). Specifically, we seek to identify a candidate with experience in the following disciplines:

      - Aircraft stealth signature reduction and low observables (LO) phenomenology; Radar cross-section (RCS) susceptibility; Electromagnetics (EM), computational electromagnetics (CEM); LO project/program management. The candidate will be working in a fast-paced environment responsible for low observable technology maturation lifecycle from initial concept, internal research and development (IRAD) project implementation, modeling and simulation, optimization, prototype build and test, external customer communication and marketing, proposal and contract capture, contract research and development (CRAD) leadership, and transition to production fleet. The candidate will be expected to work self-guided under only general direction and in small, multidisciplinary teams. The candidate will also participate in Government forums and internal Skunk Works program reviews as an emerging LO signature expert and resource.

      Typical responsibilities may include:

      - Responsible for performing, analyzing, and communicating vehicle signature predictions using Unix-based codes and tools.

      - Responsible for leading signature reduction trade studies and optimization campaigns for both platform-level and detailed component-level designs

      - Involved in planning and/or executing laboratory measurements of material coupons to determine physical, electrical, and/or environmental properties.

      - Engagement in the research, design, computational electromagnetic modeling, fabricating, and testing of advanced electromagnetic metamaterials applied to/installed on LO platforms.

      - Responsible for planning, performing, post-processing, and communicating the results of laboratory, field, flight, and vehicle signature measurements.

      - Writing and using scripts to batch analysis and post-processing.

      - Responsible for dreaming and developing new novel approaches to resolving difficult problems
The position requires excellent communication skills for final reports and technical briefings to internal leadership and customers. An ability to explain complex technical concepts in a readily comprehensible manner is an advantage. The candidate should or will develop experience in customer/client interaction and coordination. This will include the ability to perceive customer needs, develop a compelling technical approach to meeting those needs, clearly and concisely describe a plan for implementing the technical approach, and provide reasonable cost/schedule estimates for the work needed. The candidate will be expected to develop and implement R&D plans to meet needs defined by management or by the customer. The candidate will typically work minimal technical direction, and they may be called upon to provide technical direction for others. The candidate will participate in and ultimately lead multidisciplinary design teams to resolve challenging aircraft survivability problems in the low observables, infrared signature reduction, and LO realm.
