Summary
The Senior Manager - Cloud Solutions Architect (SM-CSA) will have a leading role in the development and deployment of cloud-based solutions that drive business objectives, ensure scalability, and maintain security. The SM-CSA will be responsible for leading the company through an architectural transformation and enabling enterprise data excellence in multiple areas including data analytics and generative Artificial Intelligence (AI). The SM-CSA will recommend a data lake architecture on the selected cloud platforms and ensure efficient data storage, integration, and accessibility. Leads efforts to establish data governance within the data lake including data quality, metadata management, access controls, etc. to ensure data integrity, high availability, scalability, and regulatory compliance. Develops robust extraction, translation and loading (ETL) strategies to enable seamless data extraction, transformation, and loading processes. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to align data lake solutions with organizational objectives. Recommends and oversee the implementation of encryption, identity management, and auditing controls to safeguard data. Optimizes resource usage and recommends cost-saving measures within the data lake.

• Analyze enterprise business drivers to determine technology needs, specifications, and standards, and develop enterprise architecture requirements and standards.
• Design and implement a comprehensive cloud strategy that aligns with the company's business objectives and technology strategy.
• Assess cloud architecture designs for scalability, availability, and reliability.
• Evaluate and identify top cloud architecture solutions to meet the strategic needs of the company.
• Design, deploy, and oversee the implementation and integration of cloud-based applications, data lakes, systems, and associated infrastructures, ensuring they meet performance, scalability, and security requirements.
• Manage cloud resource costs and optimize spending with cloud-based environments.
• Ensure data governance, data integrity, and compliance with relevant regulations and laws.
• Maintain the security of corporate data and ensure the implementation and maintenance of security measures and controls.
• Troubleshoot and resolve errors in cloud-based systems.
• Research new technologies and make recommendations for innovative solutions to enable business growth.
• Serves as an internal subject matter expert to business leaders in the development of IT solutions while providing mentorship to internal teams.
• Develops a successful vision/strategy through strong leadership skills.
• Builds a culture of teamwork and accountability.
• Mentors, coaches, develops and manages employees to ensure all goals and strategies can be achieved.
• Monitors and ensures achievement of performance goals and objectives either directly or through subordinate staff.
• Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations.

Supervisory Responsibilities
• Assigns, monitors, and reviews the progress and accuracy of assigned work.
• Develops, coaches and mentors subordinate staff.
• Conducts performance evaluations; recommends salary adjustments; rewards employees or takes disciplinary action, as necessary; addresses complaints and resolves issues.
• Build and ensure highest levels of teamwork and interdepartmental collaboration.

Minimum Qualifications
• High School Diploma or State Issued Equivalency.
• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Systems, Math, Data Science, or Engineering plus 8 years of hands-on experience in cloud development, and/or managing cloud projects with a focus on deploying solutions.
• Experience with data lake architectures and extraction, translation and loading (ETL).
• Possesses a solid understanding of cloud computing and technology systems.
• Experience designing and managing applications within a cloud platform.
• Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience in managing and developing a high performing team of IT professionals.
• Experience establishing and working within cross-functional teams and effectively communicating with internal customers, consultants, suppliers and/or vendors.
• Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with executives, IT management, and developers
• Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

Preferred Qualifications
• Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Math.
• Certification in Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Azure cloud platforms.
• Experience in designing, implementing, and managing cloud solutions built on Amazon Web Services (AWS) , Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Proficiency in Automation and DevOps methodologies, along with expertise in utilizing modern cloud technologies such as Docker, virtualization technologies, and Amazon Web Services (AWS) services.
• Proficient in Python, Hadoop, ECS Lambda, MySQL, and other cloud analytics platforms.
• Experience developing Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Code Deploy and/or Terraform.
• Deep Learning and/or AI experience.
• Large scale systems management experience.
• Experience addressing strategic issues as well as day-to-day operational concerns.
• Experience with defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid and concise conclusions and recommendations.
• Experience interpreting an extensive variety of data related to various situations dealing with both abstract and concrete variables.
• Skilled in responding to common inquiries or complaints.
• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.

Compensation

1. Hiring Salary Range: $143,500 - $179,400.
2. Actual compensation amount paid may be lower or higher to be determined by factors other than race and gender such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
