- Provide oversight for the Fort Bend Center, managing operations, staff, budget, and facility.
- Development and execution of a community outreach plan for Fort Bend County that promotes community engagement with Fort Bend County residents, nonprofit organizations, donors and key stakeholders to enhance community impact, resource connections, nonprofit partnerships and advancement initiatives.
- Implementing a council that will provide guidance for United Way’s work in Fort Bend County.
- Serve as a Fort Bend County nonprofit network convenor to identify community issues and facilitate collective action and problem-solving initiatives.
- Operational Management and Oversight: Provide oversight for the operations and facilities of the Fort Bend United Way Center, ensuring efficient budget management and reporting. Implement strategies to optimize resource utilization and center efficiency. Supervise staff through objective setting, performance reviews, and ongoing skill development initiatives. Identify individual and team goals, monitor progress, and provide regular feedback to foster professional growth and enhance team effectiveness. Support program and initiative investments by providing partners with technical assistance and training for continuous quality improvement. Oversee execution and monitoring of professional contracts, including grants, reporting, and evaluation.
- Community Engagement: Cultivate and maintain relationships with senior leaders of institutional and organizational partners to identify community needs and solutions. Represent United Way in the Fort Bend community through targeted outreach efforts by attending local events, networking with community leaders and organizations and participating in community forums to raise awareness of United Way’s services and mission. Build relationships with individual donors, corporate sponsors, and philanthropic organizations through personalized communication and stewardship activities. Serve as liaison to Advancement, Marketing and Communications Teams in order to facilitate outreach efforts, enhance visibility and demonstrate the impact of United Way’s work in Fort Bend County.
- Strategy Development: Collaborate with the Community Outreach leadership team to develop and implement strategies that amplify United Way’s impact in the community. Lead multi-year planning efforts for program development, benchmarking, and resource allocation, focusing on funded partner investments, disaster response, and strategic initiatives. Engage high-level volunteers and community leaders in identifying community impact strategies aligned with United Way’s mission and vision. Use a data-driven approach to guide strategies that connect people to possibility.
SALARY: $80 - 85K
OVERVIEW:
The Sr. Manager is the lead representative of United Way in Fort Bend County. The incumbent will manage the center and provide strategic leadership to connect people to possibility in Fort Bend County by elevating community impact efforts, improving resource connections and building nonprofit networks.
In support of these goals, the Sr. Manager will be primarily responsible for managing the following key strategic deliverables:

Must have proven experience in community engagement, operations management, budgeting and strategic planning, preferably within the nonprofit sector; Knowledge and awareness of Fort Bend County’s community assets, needs and networks; Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to cultivate effective relationships with diverse stakeholders; Ability to analyze/interpret financial, social and economic trend data; Aptitude to make recommendations in support of organizational goals.
