      About The Role:

      We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer for our Plant Services Practice (PSP) business unit. As an active member of the PSP team, you will take on diverse hands-on projects involving component design/analysis, integrity assessment, failure analysis, repair solutions and remediation. You will have the opportunity to contribute to projects primarily in the petrochemical and energy industries as well as projects in aerospace, defense, manufacturing, and materials processing. This is an onsite opportunity located in Cincinnati, Ohio. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.

      Responsibilities

      • Review and perform API 579 Level 1, 2, and 3 fitness-for-service assessments.
      • Conduct stress analysis and mechanical design for pressure vessels, piping systems, mechanical components, and plant equipment.
      • Apply both computational and classical analysis methods, integrating findings with field instrumentation and strain gauge data.
      • Coordinate and conduct onsite field visits to investigate and resolve client-reported issues.
      • Prepare and review technical reports, proposals, and client presentations.
      • Engage with industry associations and technical code committees to contribute thought leadership and build credibility.
      • Mentor and support the development of junior engineers, fostering a collaborative, learning-focused environment.
      • Identify and develop business opportunities within industries such as Refining, Chemical, Pipeline, and Plant Equipment.

      Qualifications

      Required Qualifications:

      • MS in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 7 years of experience as a practicing engineer with relevant plant engineering experience OR 10+ years of relevant plant engineering experience in lieu of a master’s degree.
      • Familiarity with relevant industry codes and standards: API 510, 570, 579, 580, 653; NACE; ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Codes; and NDE methods.
      • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally (must be able to obtain a U.S. passport without restrictions).

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Ph. D in Mechanical Engineering.
      • Proficiency with FEA software such as Abaqus or ANSYS.
      • Prior experience at a major oil company, refinery, chemical plant, or engineering consulting firm.
      • Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) license OR the ability to become registered.
