      Overview

      Summary:

      This position is under the supervision of an Ophthalmologist or an Optometrist. The Ophthalmic Technician utilizes ophthalmic skills to assist physicians in the provision of ambulatory health care services that reflect providers' philosophy and standards of ambulatory health and care of patients.


      Responsibilities

      Responsibilities:

      • History taking, Intermediate Tonometry, Ocular Pharmacology, Instrument maintenance
      • Training of back office
      • Clinical Optics, Photography, Visual Fields, Basic Ocular Motility
      • Safety operate ophthalmic equipment, cameras, tonopen, slit lamp, projectors.
      • Perform other tasks associated with the clinic operation as assigned.
      • Pull patient work up including OCT
      • Schedule injections and schedule pre-op appointments
      • Keep medical records up to date
      • Assist with referral information
      • Surgical assistant to physician

      Qualifications

      Qualifications :

      • Experience Requirements:
        • 1 Year - Ophthalmic Technician - Required
        • 2 years - In an Opthalmic Practice - Required

        • Education:
          • High School Diploma or GED equivalent - Required
          • College diploma Opthalmic Technician - Preferred
          • Certificate Medical Terminology -preferred

          • Additional Duties:
            • Additional duties as assigned may vary.
