As a Sr. Ops. Research Scientist, you will be working with a unique and gifted team developing exciting products for customers and collaborating with cross-functional team.

The ideal candidate will have experience in regulated industries, taking new production systems from development through mature manufacturing.
Key job responsibilities
• Facilitate and support the transfer of chemistry, manufacturing and quality processes from development through volume production in a regulated environment while working closely with collaborative teams
• Evaluate available technology in the industry and product requirements to develop process methods and equipment design to enable efficient manufacturing and qualification
• Use their knowledge of biological processes to develop test methods for material, subcomponent and final product validation through stages of manufacturing including documentation
• Develop process documentation such as work instructions, test procedures, quality control protocols, lot release protocols and machine qualifications
• Lead setting manufacturing acceptance criteria for chemical components, with guard banding the concentrations and parameters
• Design, develop, execute and document DOE for process optimization
• Lead sourcing and cost reduction activities
• Train personnel as applicable and in the short term perform the builds to support scale up
• Perform failure analysis to resolve production process issues such as nonconforming materials, yield, quality and throughput
We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:
Milpitas, CA, USA• Bachelor of Science degree in manufacturing, biochemistry, organic chemistry, biology or other related technical degree
• 5+ years in manufacturing or manufacturing engineering; including NPI experience
• 3+ years of proven experience with DOE's, high speed automation or assembly equipment
• 3+ years’ experience with designing, specifying, implementing and qualifying test methods
• Advanced degree in manufacturing, biochemistry, organic chemistry, biology or other related technical degree
• Knowledge in Assay Development procedures for qualifying materials
• Experience with manufacturing in regulated environments including IQ, OQ and PQ documentation
• Experience with guard banding studies to test limits of test and develop acceptance criteria
• Experience with ISO tables and statistical tools for sample size determination
• Strong analytical skills to explore data and develop engineering solutions
• Excellent written and verbal communication, ability to present and explain design, defect data, metrics, supplier quality, improvement initiatives and status to leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $108,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $211,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
