  Job Description
  The candidate will perform job duties as a Cloud Engineer. They will be responsible for designing and managing the cloud infrastructure. Duties include deploying product updates, setting up software factory, virtual machines, containers, and orchestration. The role will have a large impact on team productivity and as such requires an understanding of the software development lifecycle and various automation tools for developing digital pipelines (CI/CD pipelines). This position requires working with a multi-disciplinary team including Systems Engineers, Software Engineers, Test Engineers, DevOps Engineers, and Cyber Engineers in an Agile software development environment. Specific duties include but are not limited to the following:
  • Designing, building, and deploying scalable and secure cloud solutions using Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Managing and optimizing cloud resources for performance, cost-effectiveness, and security
  • Automating infrastructure management tasks using languages like Python, Bash, YAML, etc. and tools like AWS CloudFormation or Terraform
  • Implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines and integrating with version control systems
  • Ensuring cloud solutions adhere to security best practices, as well and applicable governing policies, procedures, and directives
  • Monitoring cloud infrastructure, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring high availability of services
  • Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to integrate application and support deployments
  Basic Qualifications:
  • Current DoD Secret Security Clearance
  • Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification (i.e., Security+, etc.)
  • 8 years of relevant experience with Bachelors; 6 years of relevant experience with Masters; 4 years of relevant experience with PhD. Experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Deep understanding of core AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, VPC, IAM, RDS, etc.)
  • Experience with tools such as AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or Ansible
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, YAML, PowerShell, etc.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control, and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
  • Understanding of networking concepts and security best practices in cloud environments
  Preferred Qualifications:
  • AWS Certifications (i.e., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, etc.)
  • RHCSA or RHCSE Certified
  • CKA/CKS/CKAD Certified
  • Previous experience with DoD Impact Level 6 (IL6)
  Salary Range: $144,200.00 - $212,400.00
  The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
  Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
