      Universal Audio seeks a Senior Product Manager with a strong background in music creation software and business strategy to contribute to Universal Audio’s software portfolios and bring world-class products to market.

Universal Audio makes some of the most respected products available in the audio industry, including the Apollo family of audio interfaces, UAD Powered Plug-Ins, and LUNA Recording System.

      The Sr. Product Manager position requires extensive expertise in product development and product life-cycle management that covers the business case, concept, creation, testing, sales, and marketing of our products. You must have outstanding communication, documentation, and management skills and be able to work with diverse product development teams and help lead Universal Audio’s overall success.

      As a member of the UA Product Organization, you will be responsible for managing a product’s lifecycle to deliver amazing products that customers will love. Your goal will be to develop best-in-class products with cutting edge design and ensure that they meet the customer’s needs.

      You will be involved in all stages of product development, including market research and customer interaction, guiding product requirements during the definition and design phases, and sustaining the product using data and growth strategies. You will be responsible for clearly communicating technically complex information to multiple departments while managing the lifecycle of music-making, recording, and other audio-related products. Product Management at UA spans many different market targets including recording, live sound, broadcast, post, music creation, guitar, and more.

      Primary deliverables include Roadmap business case documents, Product Requirements documents (PRD), Product Design and Strategy documents, Customer Persona and Competitor Analysis documents, Product and Feature/Benefit Concept documents, Product Brief documents for Marketing Communications, data and analytics, and presentations for various stakeholder groups.

      Roles and Responsibilities

      • Manage product concepts/designs and strategies for music creation customers
      • Design Leadership – help guide the vision of a software product line
      • Grow the software business with a focus on growth metrics (acquisition and retention)
      • Work cross-functionally between all departments within UA to drive new product and service releases
      • Help grow various product lines by analyzing market trends and solving customer problems better than competitors
      • Deliver prioritized products/features/services along with corresponding business justification
      • Interact with customers via available channels (home/virtual interviews, surveys, social networks, forums, trade shows, etc.)
      • Manage product life-cycles (Launch, Sustain/Update, End Of Sales, End Of Life, etc.)

      Required Skills & Experience:

      • 5+ years of Product Management experience
      • Understanding of various music creation tools and processes
      • Product and/or product marketing experience with a business-to-consumer software company
      • Proven ability to motivate teams to achieve high standards and accomplish set outcomes
      • Experience identifying customer and market pain points and building solutions to solve them
      • Experience with entire product lifecycle (from concept to launch and end-of-life) for more than one product
      • Proficient working with both internal and external (contractor) product development teams
      • Proficient in modern hardware & software development tools/processes
      • Excellent communication, planning, prioritizing, and organizing skills
      • Able to contribute to the definition of strategic vision and to articulate it in front of a wide variety of audiences
      • Excellent quantitative and qualitative analysis skills
      • Able to rally and gain backing from internal stakeholders in order to build organizational support for the proposed product strategy and designs – lead through influence
      • Willing to travel if necessary/possible

      Desired Skills & Experience:

      • Expert in computer music recording/creation and audio workflows
      • Retail sales experience
      • Fluency in music / is a musician
      • Expertise in more than one digital audio workstation (DAW)
