Job Summary
Provide Quality Engineering support and leadership for multiple fabrication operations teams at the Polaris facility. Assignments will involve both proactive and reactive solutions to address quality issues affecting internal manufacturing, which includes weld, tube bend, laser cutting, hole piercing, paint and injection mold. This individual will be responsible for managing the quality program, employees and assigned processes for all related aspects of these areas.

Responsibilities
· Support Polaris quality initiatives and programs as required.
· Lead and support Quality Engineers and Technicians on quality issues.
· Participate or lead failure analysis, root cause and corrective action investigations
· Develop, manage and report on internal process quality metrics; identify opportunities for
continuous improvement and lead improvement initiatives.
· Communicate process issues/problems/concerns to Quality and Operations leadership.
· Generate quality instructions and/or procedures as needed to contain quality issues or to
assist with process validations.
· Partner directly with the Operations teams to improve the use of measurement systems.
· Participate in new product launch teams. Support Product Engineering on DFAM projects.
· Conduct and/or support internal audits and product transfers as needed.
· Support the Quality Lab in completing APQP, PPAP and production measurement requests.
· Perform Six Sigma Measurement System Analysis (MSA/GR&R) and process capability
studies. Perform DOE if required.
Experience & Skills
· Five (5) or more years of experience in Quality, Manufacturing, Process Engineering or equivalent field required.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment.
· Ability to lead technicians in testing and inspection methods for fabrication quality processes.
· Ability to read, interpret and improve weld and tube bending prints.
· Strong process improvement skills, including PFMEA, Control Plans, RCCA (8D), DOE, Gage
R&R, PPAP, print reading skills, product failure analysis experience and Quality Management
Systems (QMS).
· Experience with and knowledge of how to properly apply GD&T to fabricated components.
· Experience in the implementation of Lean Manufacturing. Leading teams in Six Sigma
projects, Black Belt training or Black Belt certification is a strong plus.
· Leadership experience with hourly and salaried subordinates.
· Ability to travel for job – sister plants and suppliers – as required per business need.
· Must be a self-starter and able to work independently without supervision.
Education
· Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Engineering, Operations or related field required; advanced degree preferred.

Working Conditions
· Standard manufacturing/plant environment, with a strong plant-floor presence.
· Ability and willingness to travel up to 10 percent of time – travel can fluctuate according to
business need.
