Job Summary
We are looking for a Sr. Research Study Technician to join our Insourcing Solutions team, located in South San Francisco, CA.

What you will do!
In the Sr. Research Study Technician role, you will conduct in vivo experiments in rodents for multiple clients to support research programs. Collaborate with the veterinary staff to ensure that the health and welfare of laboratory animals are maintained. The Sr. RST monitors daily animal health and welfare; reports non-compliance or welfare concerns to appropriate individuals, assures the quality and integrity of all data collection and documentation in technical notebooks or approved electronic files. In addition, setup, adjust, calibrate, clean, maintain and troubleshoot equipment, as well as perform and manage technical equipment operation such as IVIS, Irradiator, Anesthesia machine, weighing scales needed to conduct in-vivo studies.In this role you will plan and execute in vivo experiments; identify and report experimental/study problems, troubleshoot causative factors, and implement necessary corrections. You will need to stay up-to-date and familiar with new technologies, techniques, and animal models. In addition, conduct QIA inspections of all client support facilities; and carry out special assignments as directed.
As an Sr. RST, you must be able to perform, obtain proficiency and train in the following techniques: dilution and dosing calculations; dosing administrations (PO, SQ, IP, IM, IV & RO); blood collections (Submandibular, Cardiac, Tail Vein, Orbital Sinus, Submental); advanced organ necropsy and tissue collection typically performed on toxicology studies, & profusions; tumor measurements, body weights. IBD and/or EAE scoring, behavioral monitoring. Rodent surgical assistant skills in anesthesia monitoring, pre- and post- surgical care/monitoring, compound calculations; surgical skills such as SQ implantations. Attend and participate in on-the-job and classroom training sessions and complete all assigned training by due dates; assist/provide input to supervisor regarding personnel management activities.
Who are we looking for?
A candidate that possesses an associate degree (A.A./A.S.) or bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in animal or laboratory science or related discipline. At least 2-3 years related laboratory animal experience in a laboratory animal facility. Experience as team or work lead preferred. Laboratory Animal Technician (LAT) certification or advanced certification (example: LATG, CVT, LVT, RVT, SRT or SRS) preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
The pay range for this position is $40-43 USD per hour. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
