      Ready to play a key role in the future of wireless technology in our San Francisco/Sacramento markets?

      We expect this Sr RF Engineer to be a key component of the engineering design and system performance of the T-Mobile Network. We count on this position to support coverage, capacity, and performance planning while in development and applying your engineering principles to craft and optimize network coverage. We will rely on you to lead and mentor engineers on specific projects, be a technical authority, and require in depth analysis of new technology features. This position is a lead technical resource within the market, developing processes and strategic approaches to problem solving.

      Responsibilities:

      • Sophisticated monitoring/review of radio network key performance indicators and devise inter and intra team processes for system performance.
      • Partners with operations solving sophisticated site network problems.
      • Addresses customer and employee complaints received through information analyzer and other applications.
      • Participates with federal, state, and local jurisdictions to ensure regulatory and zoning compliance.
      • Defines and develops internal process used for radio network design.
      • Leads the development, testing, and validation of RF feature plan proposals.
      • Defines implementation guidelines for approved new features and technologies.
      • Leads team applying RF principles to performance activities and mentors engineering and technical staff.
      • Serves as the lead developer and resource for market, regional, and national planning, and performance tools (as applicable).
      • Employs strong technical RF abilities to effectively lead, handle and report on internal programs. Ability to clearly define program goals, approach and timelines.
      • Partners and strategizes with Customer Care and Retail to identify and tackle customer problems engineering solutions driving customer growth.

      Qualifications

      Minimum required

      • 5 - 7+ yrs validated experience within the wireless industry fixing, optimizing, and designing wireless communication sites.
      • Advanced understanding of RF propagation principles, cellular theory, RF tools and antenna theory.
      • Extensive knowledge of Ericsson platforms as well as Nokia product lines
      • Advanced technical skills (UNIX, Oracle Database, Excel macros and SQL programming a plus)
      • Expert level MapInfo skills
      • Teamwork: Ability and desire to work collaboratively on a team. Develop, maintain, and strengthen partnerships who can provide information, assistance, and support.
      • Communication: Ensure information is passed on to others who should be kept in the loop. Express oneself clearly in conversations and interactions with others. Clear business and technical writing skills
      • Customer Focus: Ability to meet external and/or internal customers’ needs.
      • Analytical: Ability to tackle problems by using a logical, detailed, sequential approach
      • Forward Thinking: Anticipate the implications and consequences of situations and take appropriate action to be prepared for possible contingencies.
      • Influencing Others: The ability to gain others' support for ideas, proposals, projects, and solutions.

      Desired

      • 6+ years working in and around the radio frequency industry designing, optimizing, and solving network issues.
      • 5+ yrs proven track record using RF engineering tools and drive test equipment.
      • 5+ year previous experience with (FCC) and FAA) filings and zoning meetings
      • 5+proven experience analyzing data and crafting coverage solutions.

      Education

      • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent technical degree

      • At least 18 years of age
      • Legally authorized to work in the United States

      California Pay Range : $120,400.00 - $162,800.00

      The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the state listed. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay may be above or below this range. At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance, while Retail and Business Sales roles are eligible for monthly or quarterly sales incentives.
