      Overview

Gilbane is seeking a Senior Risk Manager to be responsible for overall risk management for a Gilbane region, including assessment of risk, establishing risk management strategy, procurement of insurance products and ongoing administration of insurance products. Manage business unit relations across all functions within operations (leadership, business development, purchasing, project teams). Role reports to the SVP - Director of Risk Management.

      Responsibilities

      • Understanding of insurance markets (coverages, trends, pricing)
      • Familiarity with CCIPs, OCIPs, SDI, Builders Risk benefits, placements, coverage, contract entitlement, and implementation
      • Ability to perform contract reviews and communicate / negotiate terms with business units and clients
      • Strong written, verbal, interpersonal capabilities
      • Ability to work in a high demand, rapid paced environment, managing several open items concurrently and reprioritizing based on business unit needs
      • Advising on insurable and uninsurable risks to project teams and business unit leaders
      • Ability to evaluate prequalification of high risk subcontractors and create appropriate risk mitigation plans
      • Ability to create and deliver training on insurance coverage and process
      • Ability to function as an integral part of a team, highly collaborative
      • Ability to coordinate and manage efforts involving individuals from different geographic areas as well as external partners
      • Strong financial / analytical skills
      • Ability to understand issues quickly and follow through to resolution
      • Excellent customer service skills
      • Strong problem solving, planning, and organizational skills-including multi-tasking
      • Proficient in MS Outlook, MS Office, Excel and other critical RMIS software is essential

      • Perform owner and subcontractor contract reviews
      • Assess project risk
      • Assess subcontractor risks
      • Obtain pricing in various insurance products (Risk Management Rate, CCIP, SDI, Builders Risk and other project specific coverages)
      • Insurance program administration
      • Support assigned business unit (including BD, estimating, purchasing, project management, accounting) - influence them in making proper risk management decisions, and provide training as needed
      • Maintain relationships with business unit leadership to ensure alignment and set strategy for insurance program traction
      • Meet with project owners as needed to explain and sell GIG insurance products
      • Provide claim support and strategy as needed
      • Establish risk management strategy, policies/procedures for a region
      • Second tier approval authority

      Qualifications

      EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

      • Bachelor's degree
      • 10-15 years of experience in risk management, underwriting and/or brokerage services required. AEC industry experience is preferred.
      • Or equivalent combination of education and experience

      Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. For Rhode Island this ranges from $127,700.00 -$175,600.00 plus benefits and retirement program.For Boston, MA this ranges from $142,300.00-$195,600.00 plus benefits and retirement program.

      For New York City, NY this ranges from $155,600.00-$214,000.00 plus benefits and retirement program.
