What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Plan, investigate, and scope upcoming projects while taking ownership of deliverables
- Mentor team members through pair programming and asynchronous communication
- Write, review, and improve code to enhance system performance
- Stay updated on technical concepts and Google Cloud Platform features
- Collaborate with the team in regular meetings to discuss ongoing projects and upcoming sprints
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Extensive experience in full-stack development with a focus on backend skills
- Proficient in Scala or other JVM languages (e.g., Kotlin or Java) in a production environment
- Strong understanding of system architecture for scalable and maintainable solutions
- Experience in deploying infrastructure using Terraform or similar tools
- Professional background in the travel or fintech industries, with insights into their challenges
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex, multi-month projects from inception to production
- Knowledge of service communication methods such as gRPC, pub/sub, and REST
- Commitment to enhancing system quality and reliability through best practices in software engineering
