What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Plan, investigate, and scope out upcoming projects while owning their execution
- Mentor team members through pair programming and asynchronous communication
- Write, review, and improve code to enhance software quality
- Learn and apply new technical concepts and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) features
- Lead and deliver complex, multi-month projects from inception to production
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Proven experience in full-stack development, particularly with backend skills
- Proficiency in Scala or other JVM languages (Kotlin or Java) in a production environment
- Strong understanding of system architecture for scalable and maintainable solutions
- Experience with service communication methods like gRPC, pub/sub, and REST
- Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and cloud-native development best practices
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Background in the travel or fintech industries, understanding their specific challenges
- Experience deploying infrastructure using Terraform or similar tools
- Demonstrated commitment to enhancing system quality and reliability
