What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Design and develop high-quality, maintainable software modules for the employer's Retail product suite
- Analyze and resolve software-related issues from internal or external customers
- Conduct unit and integration testing using appropriate methodologies
- Document specifications, design, features, and operations of applications prior to production rollout
- Mentor team members in proper software engineering methods and techniques
What is Required (Qualifications):
- BS degree or higher in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience
- 5+ years of experience developing and/or maintaining applications in Microsoft Access and VBA
- Advanced SQL Server skills including SQL Query Development and Performance Tuning
- Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and common design patterns
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with scripting languages such as VBScript and PowerShell
- Retail analytics support or direct retail experience
- Skilled in Agile and SCRUM development methodologies (Kanban)
- Demonstrated proficiency with Java and a scripting language such as Python
- Knowledge of common application frameworks such as Java SE and Spring
