      Job Description:

      Job Summary
      This position provides mentorship and expertise in technologies and processes for Information Services Management (ISM) and Quality Assurance (QA). He/She maintains an awareness of emerging technologies to ensure a competitive advantage. This position automates test scenarios and expected outcomes. He/She provides expertise for UPS key business functions and supporting technologies. This position applies a comprehensive knowledge of technical skills, principles, practices, and procedures of testing methodologies and working knowledge in planning, designing, and conducting QA reviews and inspections. This position conducts comprehensive testing and risk-based assessments of the testing objects. He/She uses source documentation as input and contributes to the planning and implementation of testing activities. This position leads testing components of large and complex projects, assigns tasks, provides direction to resources, and reports progress to project stakeholders. He/She creates and selects tools and methodologies for review and approval by management.

      The Sr. Software Quality Engineer will be part of a scrum team working in an agile (SAFE) framework with Pricing and Marketing systems. Additional assignments of an ad-hoc nature on short term, high priority initiatives will also be the responsibility of the Sr. Software Quality Engineer. The position requires significant collaboration and interaction with off-shore resources, and will include review and support of off-shore QA team member deliverables.

      Responsibilities:

      • Active participation in all agile ceremonies
      • Requirements review and analysis
      • Conducts quality assessment (QA) design and development processes
      • Develops test solutions on complex initiatives
      • Defect analysis, management and reporting
      • Provides expertise in testing across the QA organization and assigned team
      • Develops and implements new practices and testing standards
      • Contributes to project design and leads testing reviews
      • Significant collaboration with QA, App Dev, BA and User teams
      • Review testing results and facilitate sign-off from responsible parties
      • Status reporting and test detail reporting with QA Lead and Manager roles


      Qualifications:

      • Significant experience in manual and automated software testing
      • Knowledge of Safe Agile Framework
      • Significant experience with Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS)
      • Significant experience testing UI
      • Experience testing APIs
      • Ability to identify and clearly document bugs and manage to resolution
      • Excellent written and communication skills
      • Experience with both web and client/server based testing
      • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline
      • Quality Assurance certifications are a plus
      • Experience with pricing and discounting systems and processes are a plus
