      Job Description

      About the team: This team is responsible for performing complex technical analysis, providing technical expertise, and process guidance in the development, implementation, and management of complex/technical ZFPS (ZF Production System) initiatives. This will be across all plant processes in order to support the launch and/or ongoing production of reliable transmissions that are cost effective, able to be manufactured, meet customer specifications, and maintain company standards. This position serves as a technical expert and primary point of escalation for internal customers, departmental personnel, and project or program personnel regarding ZFPS initiatives.

      What you can look forward to as a Senior Specialist:
      Evaluate, propose, architect, and implement ZFPS solutions (e.g. continuous improvement and lean manufacturing methods/tools) for internal customers surrounding plant processes and related data; work closely with manufacturing engineering, operations, and related groups to align team objectives and tasks.
      Drive and design lean management system processes, strategies and ZFPS Lean Roadmaps and ensure completion of related documentation.
      Evaluate and development plant processes related to continuous improvement opportunities to eliminate waste in processes; serve as an escalation point and provide input on team and plant performance.
      Coordinate projects and strategies related to ZFPS methodologies and CIP (continuous improvement) activities and develop Lean roadmaps for implementation and sustainability within the production facility (i.e. 5S initiatives, Lean Manufacturing Philosophy, One-Piece Flow, Standardized Work, Line Balancing, Pull Systems, Waste Identification and Reduction, Visual Management, etc.).
      Analyze and lead the development and improvement of KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) as required.
      Serve as a key technical liaison and trainer/coach for ZFPS/continuous improvement projects within the plant, as well as an internal consultant to ZFPS Specialist I and II, plant personnel and engineering for developing and implementing continuous improvement activities (e.g. 5S, TPM, Line Balancing, Standardize work, changeover time analysis. Value stream analysis, layout planning, etc.).
      Perform high-level and complex technical analyses of shop floor procedures and processes, as well as provide production system recommendations based on best practices and ZFPS standards (e.g. value-stream design for multi-year projects); ZFPS Lean Evaluation); collaborate with engineers and analysts in other areas to synchronize/harmonize improvement objectives and corrective action measures.
      Drive the implementation and maintenance of internal ZFPS procedure documentation, continuous improvement plans and training; ensure proper training on ZFPS processes and changes.

      Your Profile as a Senior Specialist:
      Bachelor’s Degree
      6+ of manufacturing and/or skilled trades experience
      Proficient Lean Manufacturing tools and strategies implementation knowledge and skills in addition to problem-solving methods (i.e. Toyota Production System, Statistical analysis, Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen, Poka Yoke, Kanban, etc.).
      Excellent organizational, planning, and analytical problem-solving skills including statistical analysis.
      Proficient computer skills, strong MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
      Flexibility to travel both domestic and international.
      English language competency
