      Calgary, AB (Hybrid/Remote)

      We are looking for a Sr. Technical Service Representative - Contract to join our Agricultural Solutions team in Edmonton, AB.

      Reporting to the Regional Technical Manager, the Senior Technical Service Representative is responsible for the execution of summer demand creation activities including large scale grower trials and demonstration sites within the region. They are responsible for providing supportive data to meet sales objectives and address product usage questions. In addition, they are accountable for providing technical training to the sales force and key influencers within the region. This includes training the sales representatives on investigative field techniques and technical support with product inquiries where necessary.

      As a Sr. Technical Service Representative - Contract, you create chemistry by...

      • Executing and managing all Demand Creation trials and activities, including all technical requirements such as operating equipment related to spraying, maintaining and harvesting.
      • Supervising Technical Agronomy Interns who are supporting summer demand creation activities and collecting data from large-scale grower applied trials and other key projects.
      • Coordinating third party research associated with third party demo sites.
      • Monitoring and positively influencing key centers of influence (COI) such as universities, consultants, provincial extension staff and retail agronomists through relationship building and regular contact.
      • Transferring technical information through the development and delivery of presentations to both external and internal customers through various presentation tools.
      • Training technically and reinforcing product positioning with the sales and marketing team.
      • Supporting sales team members and a defined list of external customers within the region, ensuring that marketing, sales and technical positions are in alignment.
      • Using generated field and university research data to develop tools that are supporting marketing and sales tactics.
      • Effectively coaching and mentoring others, including team members and sales colleagues, as required.

      If you have...

      • A M.Sc in Agriculture/Bilogy with emphasis on crop science, weed science, agronomy, entomology, plant pathology or related discipline with 8 years of relevant experience is preferred. Candidates with a B.Sc and a minimum of 10+ years’ experience in sales, research or related functions will also be considered.
      • Experience in the Agriculture industry, working with and understanding growers and retail customers.
      • Strong collaboration and leadership skills with the ability to influence without authority.
      • Strong interpersonal communication skills combined with a passion for making a positive difference in the agriculture industry.
      • An ability to self-manage time, resources and energy appropriately.
      • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and web-based applications.
      • CCSC (or willing to obtain) is mandatory. Willingness to achieve P.Ag/ R.T. Ag, or CCA.
      • Ability to travel overnight on an as needed basis.
      • A valid driver’s license.
