- Collision analysis.
- HSM methodology.
- Countermeasure identification.
- Network screening.
- Road safety data analysis.
- Human factors consideration.
- Complete operational reviews.
- Proficient in use of Synchro software.
- Familiarity with VISSIM is desirable.
- Arrange site visits and data collection.
- Pavement markings and signs.
- Traffic signals design.
- Traffic management plans for roadway and infrastructure projects.
- Accesses and intersections, complete streets, traffic calming etc.
- Active transportation facilities, including Pedestrian Crossovers.
- Introduction of innovative technologies and tools.
- Policy development for all levels of road authorities.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and client communications.
- Assist with Transportation Group project management and business development:
- Task delivery, budget management and quality control.
- Lead small projects/tasks independently.
- Supervise the work of junior team members.
- Make a positive contribution to the overall team culture and environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with 10+ years of related experience specializing in Traffic/Transportation.
- P. Eng. designation with PEO is required.
- Proven ability to learn and adapt software, such as transportation modeling, GIS, AutoCAD and innovative new applications.
- Experience includes applying and interpreting related legislation and technical documentation, including the ITE Trip Generation Manual, the TAC Geometric Design Guide, the Ontario Traffic Manual and the Ontario Highway Traffic Act.
- Experience in the application of specialized traffic assessment and/or design software, particularly Synchro, VISSIM, AIMSUM and AutoTURN, etc.
- Experience determining Transportation Demand Management elements and assessing/ improving active transportation facilities.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD.
- Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication.
- Attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to perform individually or as a member of project teams.
- Effective time management skills with the ability to manage concurrent projects, proposals and/or priorities.
- ITE Canada membership desired.
- Valid Ontario driver’s license (minimum G2).
