      About the Division

      The Core Services Infrastructure L3 support team is part of the Enterprise Computing Data Services Organization at Morgan Stanley. The team primarily manages and supports an application management and deployment system (Zapp) used across the firm and ZooKeeper, an Apache centralized server for managing configuration information, service discovery and distributed synchronization.

      About the Role

      This position is for a technical operations specialist with global responsibility for managing and providing support for these products at Morgan Stanley.

      The successful candidate will be involved in day-to-day handling of changes, incidents, escalations and problem management. This includes application server administration, technical troubleshooting of infrastructure and user incidents, server and application deployments and task automation.

      The role requires availability for weekend and on-call work on a rotation basis.

      Skills Required:

      • At least 5 years of relevant experience
      • Experience with Linux System Administration preferably Red Hat.
      • Experience with web architecture including performance, availability, scalability, and disaster recovery, capacity planning.
      • Experience with Python or Perl/Linux shell scripting.
      • Experience with networking protocols such as HTTP and TCP/IP.
      • Experience with application level support on PaaS (Platform as a service) and SaaS (Software as a service)
      • Experience with monitoring and alerting tools.
      • Experience with troubleshooting tools such as TCPdump and Wireshark.
      • Experience with security implementations including Kerberos, DMZ, SSL, firewalls, proxy servers.
      • Process improvement by proactively identifying, analyzing, and improving upon existing processes.

      Skill Desired:

      • Knowledge of Linux lightweight containers and virtualization.
      • Knowledge of publish subscribe and message queue systems.
      • Knowledge of NoSQL databases
      • Knowledge of load-balancing and working with content delivery networks to improve the reliability and reduce the latency.
      • Knowledge of RDBMS databases
