  Pay: $60000 - $80000 / year

  Job Summary:

  Specialty Restaurants is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, performing various accounting tasks, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations. You will help produce restaurant division P&Ls by posting unit inventories, journal entries and various accruals, and perform other related tasks as needed.

  Essential Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with a team of accountants, accounts payable, and regional office managers.
  • Prepare and record monthly journal entries and identify and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Complete the processing of monthly and quarterly state and liquor tax returns as well as filing returns electronically and or manually as needed,
  • Responsible for the tracking of all license and permit payments for all point -of- sale locations and SRC’s corporate office.
  • Participate in the execution of month-end closing.
  • Perform regular accounts reconciliation.
  • Provide support to multiple departments including but not limited to Accounts Payable, MIS, POS, Purchasing and Operations when necessary.
  • Set up prepaid accounts for expenses, licenses, permits and reconcile to the general ledger.
  • Post actual payroll and reverse accrued payroll on a weekly basis for all business units.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll, including deductions, tax withholdings and overtime.
  • Prepare monthly sales report by restaurant and calculate rent expenses.
  • Process corporate deposits and post to the general ledger.
  • Monitor and process AP and AR transactions
  • Special projects on request.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  Education/Experience/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is a plus
  • 2+ years of experience in accounting or finance.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Restaurant experience is a plus
  • Experience with Restaurant 365 accounting software is a plus.

  Physical Demands:

  Sitting and standing for long periods of time; ability to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Vision abilities to include: distance, close, color, depth, and peripheral. Also the ability to adjust focus. Regular use of hands to type.
