Description:
• Maintenance of accurate books in conformance with acceptable accounting practices.
• Maintenance of General Ledger.
• Prepare all fiscal reports on a timely basis, including:
- Monthly and year-to-date comparative profit and loss statements for the company as well as departmental monthly and year-to-date comparative profit and loss statements
• Detailed analysis of non-chargeable expenses.
• Monthly and current twelve-month analysis of direct labor costs and general and administrative costs in relations.
• Calculating and remitting the monthly return as well as annual return of Gross Income Tax to the State by the prescribed deadlines.
• Ensures that the bank accounts are reconciled immediately upon receipt and that the internal control procedures are adhered to.
• Preparation and posting of Journal Entries as necessary.
• Preparation and posting of all monthly Standard (recurring) Journal Entries.
• Assists in preparation and posting of closing journal entries.
• Maintains accurate log of travel advances to staff members.
• Reviews and reconciles monthly trial balances.
• Prepares and maintains prepaid insurance schedules.
• Maintains accurate asset subsidiary ledger for each department.
• Works with insurance in preparing applications for coverage and renewals and informs insurance agency of any changes, as well as requests and maintains copies of certificates of insurance.
• Ensures quarterly payroll tax reports are accurate.
• Reviews project information before project close out.
• Prepares workers compensation schedule for audit by insurance carrier.
• Maintains records for and calculates interest on notes receivable and payable.
• Makes travel arrangements as requested.
• Prepares worksheet detailing over/under billing on projects.
• Prepares year end audit sheets of various accounts.

• College degree in accounting, or related field preferred.
• Minimum three years experience in accounting or bookkeeping
