Job Description

- Review and complete assigned monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, with emphasis on payroll-related and casino-related accounts
- Prepare adjusting monthly journal entries, for review and posting by Financial or Gaming Controller.
- Prepare assigned recurring monthly journal entries by monthly close deadlines for review and posting by Financial Controller or Assistant Controller- Finance.
- Work closely with Casino Controllers to ensure accuracy of entries recorded to assigned gaming-related balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Assist with daily banking tasks.
- Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.
- Prepare financial management reports, as assigned.
- Establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting control procedures.
- Review the current procedures/practices and recommend areas for process improvement.
- Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
- Safeguard and track company assets.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
- Knowledge of accepted accounting practices and principles
- Knowledge of auditing practices and principles
- Knowledge and experience of related computer applications. Proficient in basic PC skills, i.e.: Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and accounting software (Great Plains preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a staff accountant role
