      Caterpillar Peterlee is the worldwide source of Cat® Articulated Trucks, currently producing an 8-model range used in many industries including mining, construction and aggregates. The facility's manufacturing activities use the latest computer analysis techniques, robotic technology, and a state-of-the-art paint plant. Machines from the site are shipped to customers around the world.

      Job Purpose:

      As one of two Legal Entity Staff Accountants, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely completion of accounting processes and reporting, and provide support to the Articulated Trucks facility.

      This is an excellent opportunity to gain visibility of the financial inputs and outputs of the Articulated Truck division, including complex global intercompany transactions, act as a trusted business advisor for the Product Line teams, and obtain valuable exposure and experience in a fast-paced environment.

      Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

      • Month end routine processes, including General Ledger reporting, Wages, and Departmental Expense reports
      • Intercompany transactions and reconciliations covering Receivables, Payables and Loan accounts
      • Raising of miscellaneous Sales Invoices on ad hoc basis
      • Investigate and resolve issues relating to accounting transactions or systems
      • Collaborating with cross functional partners to ensure robust procedures and accurate accounting records, including budget management
      • Support external and internal audits, including Sarbanes Oxley controls

      Skills, experiences, or qualifications you must have:

      • Experience of Legal Entity and/or compliance reporting
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
      • Good organisation skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
      • Adaptability and able to fit into a dynamic and fast-moving accounting team and global business.
      • Capable of working both on own initiative and within a team
      • Strong Microsoft Excel skills are essential

      Skills, experiences, or qualifications you may have:

      • Experience with working within the manufacturing industry
      • Experience with Lean or 6 Sigma tools
