Manage money and deposits associated with the inmate account system, Keefe the subscriptions/deductions from inmate accounts for the daily newspaper.
Manages the Downtown Detention Facility Operations general email box.
Provides direct support for the Logistics Team.
Updating and creating forms for Operations (MS Word, Excel, Adobe, etc.) and assist with Admin Reception as needed and document imaging.
Daily (weekly, monthly and annually) data and report tracking: Inspections, rounds, inventory, uniform inspections.
Willingness to become a notary if not already one to become NCIC certified
Assist with quick background checks for contractors, professional visits, etc.
Providing necessary documentation for Accreditation requests
Support miscellaneous operations projects by gathering/compiling needed or requested data/information
Assist with making and printing various communication posters (within the jail/pods).
Champions, leads and/or supports process improvement initiatives and demonstrating a willingness to receive ongoing training with PEAK Academy
Assists with the coordination of accreditation processes.
Assists with services for events, such as accommodation and transportation for participants, facilities, catering, signage, displays, special needs requirements, and printing.
Implements and coordinates specific administrative functions by exercising delegated decision-making authority over essential elements of the function.
Evaluates operational objectives or procedures and recommending/creating modifications and/or other solutions by analyzing operational issues and/or addressing management concerns.
Must be a self-starter and proactive.
Strong Microsoft Office experience.
Data entry experience.
Interpersonal relationship skills .
Must be detail-oriented.
Must be able to multi-task in a high functioning unit.
Education Requirement: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.
Experience Requirement: Four (4) years of experience performing specialized and/or technical office support work of the type and at the level of Administrative Support Assistant IV.
Education & Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of education may be substituted for each required year experience.
Licensure & Certification: By position, must obtain Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) clearance within the probationary period.

The Denver Sheriff Department is the largest Sheriff Department agency in the state of Colorado and is comprised of two divisions and diverse operations with over 900 uniformed and non-uniformed staff members. These divisions include the Administration Division consisting of the Training Academy, the Employee Outreach Program, Peer Support, and Employee Wellness.
The Operations Division is comprised of the Downtown Detention Center (DDC) and the County Jail (COJL), the Lindsey Flannigan Courthouse (LFC) and Civil unit, the Correctional Care Medical Facility (CCMF) located within Denver Health Medical Center (DHMC), and all associated support functions such as the K-9 and fugitive units, extraditions, and state transportation.
The Denver Sheriff Department is seeking a Staff Assistant to join the DDC Logistics unit within the Operations Division. The Staff Assistant's main role is to manage money and deposits associated with the inmate accounting system, Keefe. Potential candidates will have no concerns with working in the jail environment with some exposure to incarcerated individuals.
This position will be housed at the Denver Detention Center located at 490 W. Colfax Ave., Denver, CO 80204.
