What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct compliance audits to evaluate medical record documentation, billing, and coding against established guidelines and regulations
- Identify training needs based on audit results and collaborate with peers to educate practitioners
- Serve as a clinical coding subject matter expert, maintaining expert knowledge of healthcare program regulations
- Work with revenue cycle staff to ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulations
- Prepare executive briefs summarizing audit findings and recommendations for improvement
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in compliance auditing or coding
- Minimum one coding certification required (e.g., Certified Professional Coder, Certified Risk Adjustment Coder, Registered Health Information Technician)
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Strong computer literacy and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Additional certifications in healthcare compliance or coding
- Experience with risk assessment and compliance risk mitigation
- Familiarity with Federal and State healthcare regulations
- Proven track record of implementing corrective action plans based on audit findings
