      Title: Staff Counsel - CoverMyMeds

      Location: Atlanta, Georgia or Columbus, Ohio (REQUIRED)

      Job Overview: McKesson's General Counsel Organization is seeking a Staff Counsel to provide contracting and other legal support for CoverMyMeds.

      CoverMyMeds is a business unit of McKesson Corporation that among other things, provides innovative technologies that support providers, retail pharmacies and manufacturers, which help people get the medicine they need to live healthier lives. This business supports our customers, with a comprehensive, expanded portfolio of solutions designed to help them drive business growth, realize greater business efficiencies, deliver high-quality care, enhance medication adherence and safety, and more effectively connect with other players in the pharmaceutical supply chain.

      The Staff Counsel role offers high visibility and direct interaction with upper management while supporting a competitive business in the healthcare industry. The ideal candidate will lead and collaborate within a team of skilled legal professionals to achieve team and business objectives effectively.

      What You’ll Do/Responsibilities: In our dynamic environment, job responsibilities can vary daily as everyone contributes to achieving goals. However, we strive to maintain clarity regarding primary responsibilities which include:

      • Draft, review, and negotiate sales contracts across multiple industry verticals; develop expertise in servicing agreements to support client and operational needs.
      • Demonstrate working knowledge of HIPAA and familiarity with fraud, waste, and abuse laws
      • Identify, analyze, research, and resolve complex legal and business issues, providing appropriate recommendations to business colleagues when necessary
      • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, peers, and departmental stakeholders to identify and mitigate business, legal, and compliance risks
      • Partner with privacy, compliance, and information security teams to ensure adherence to applicable business processes and legal/compliance policies
      • Engage with internal stakeholders on various issues, highlighting a thorough understanding of CoverMyMeds’ products, strategy, and operational model
      • Possess general knowledge of the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry as well as the broader healthcare ecosystem including pharmacies, pharmacy management software vendors, and healthcare data aggregators

      About You/Critical Skills: You are adept at managing complex projects independently and delivering superior results promptly. You can prioritize multiple ongoing initiatives and adapt quickly to changing business needs. You thrive in ambiguous situations and maintain flexibility under pressure.

      • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a related field, with negotiation experience highly preferred
      • Excellent communication and relationship management skills, capable of engaging with all organizational levels
      • Proven history of success in client interactions
      • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively, support peers, and contribute to a positive and cooperative team environment
      • Ability to come into the office at least one day per week

      Education:

      • Juris Doctorate and bar licensure in at least one state (REQUIRED)

      Minimum Requirements:

      • Typically, minimum 0-2 years of relevant experience.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.       Our Base Pay Range for this position

      $84,100 - $140,100
