What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Drive the data governance strategy and roadmap in alignment with business goals
- Implement automated data quality checks and monitor key performance indicators
- Serve as the product owner for data governance tooling and metadata platforms
- Collaborate with various teams to ensure data governance practices are effectively translated into technical requirements
- Champion best practices for data stewardship and lead education efforts across the organization
What is Required (Qualifications):
- 8+ years of experience in data governance, data quality, or metadata management in a tech or SaaS environment, or a Master's degree with 6+ years of experience, or a PhD with 3 years of experience
- Strong experience working cross-functionally with engineering, analytics, product, and legal teams
- Proficiency in SQL and Python, with practical experience using Snowflake
- Deep understanding of data governance principles and demonstrated experience in implementing data quality programs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence a wide range of stakeholders
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience integrating AI into work processes or decision-making
- Familiarity with metadata tools and modern data platforms such as dbt, Atlan, or Collibra
- Working knowledge of data privacy and compliance standards like GDPR and CCPA
- Strong initiative and ownership mindset to drive progress independently
