We're seeking a Staff Frontend Engineer, AI Applications to help build the next generation of AI-powered products that make clinical data more usable, accurate, and actionable.


      In this role, you'll be a key contributor on a cross-functional Agile team, responsible for designing and delivering innovative web applications that leverage cutting-edge frontend technologies and AI capabilities. You’ll write clean, testable, and maintainable code that supports rapid iteration through continuous integration and delivery. You'll also play a leadership role in architectural decisions, mentor other engineers, and help drive best practices across the frontend discipline.

      WHAT YOU'LL DO:
      • Develop and maintain AI-driven web applications, ensuring high performance, scalability, and accessibility (WCAG compliance).
      • Write quality source code, including detailed documentation and high-level technical designs in collaboration with other engineers.
      • Conduct and lead root cause analysis on defects, ensuring fixes are implemented correctly.
      • Implement creative solutions to technical challenges, applying out-of-the-box thinking to improve existing products.
      • Deliver quality products by embracing transparency, inspection, and adaptation in an agile environment.
      • Mentor junior developers and contribute to best practices in frontend development.
      • Work in a Scrum team with developers of varying skill levels.
      • Guide the team on best practices for automation across testing, integration, and deployment activities.
      • Support the team with technical solutions to ensure business needs and technical feasibility.
      • Champion technical standards and architectural alignment within the team.
      • Advocate for defining and testing Non-Functional Requirements (Availability, Scalability, Reliability, and Maintainability).
      • Collaborate with and guide team members to ensure that implementations satisfy requirements.
      • Collaborate with team members while fostering trust, commitment, and accountability.
      • Lead discovery and minimization of technical debt, proactively addressing implications and consequences of technical decisions.


      WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
      • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
      • 5+ years of frontend development experience, with a strong track record of delivering complex web applications, preferably in AI, healthcare, or life sciences domains.
      • Expertise in TypeScript and modern JavaScript (ES6+), along with working knowledge of Python for full-stack collaboration.
      • Deep understanding of software design patterns, frontend architecture, and engineering best practices.
      • Advanced experience with Angular or React, including state management tools such as RxJS, Redux, NgRx, or Zustand.
      • Hands-on experience building enterprise-grade UIs, including use of component libraries like Kendo UI or similar.
      • Ability to implement pixel-perfect, accessible UIs from design tools such as Figma, adhering to WCAG and responsive design principles.
      • Understanding of Natural Language Processing (NLP) concepts and prompt engineering is a plus.
      • Experience with frontend build tools like Webpack, Vite, or similar bundlers for performance optimization.
      • Strong debugging and performance profiling skills using Chrome DevTools, Lighthouse, and other observability tools.
      • Solid experience with CSS methodologies (e.g., SCSS, Tailwind CSS, CSS-in-JS) and responsive layout systems.
      • Proficient in API integration, including REST, GraphQL, and WebSocket protocols.
      • Familiarity with Node.js in support of frontend tooling or full-stack collaboration.
      • Experience deploying frontend applications on AWS, Azure, or GCP, and working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines.
      • Familiarity with Terraform or similar tools for infrastructure-as-code.
      • Good understanding of SSO, OAuth2, and web security best practices.
      • Experience with feature flag tools like LaunchDarkly or Unleash to enable controlled feature rollouts.
      • Proficient in unit and integration testing with Jest, Mocha, or Jasmine, and end-to-end testing using Cypress or Playwright.
      • Strong focus on code quality, linting, and automated testing practices as part of a robust CI/CD process.
      • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, with a collaborative and iterative development mindset.
      • Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers, influence architectural decisions, and lead cross-functional initiatives.
      • Passion for continuous learning, innovation, and staying updated on frontend and AI technologies.

      $150,000 - $180,000 a year
      Compensation at IMO Health is determined by job level, role requirements, and each candidate’s experience, skills, and location. The listed base pay represents the target for new hires with individual compensation varying accordingly. These figures exclude potential bonuses, equity, or sales incentives, which may also be part of the total compensation package.
