      Southwestern Energy is hiring a Staff Reservoir Engineer to help complete complex reservoir engineering projects. You will perform all conventional aspects of reservoir engineering work for full cycle project requirements including:

      • Concept initiation
      • Cost and economic analysis
      • Interpretation of technical data
      • Well performance
      • Post project analysis

      The Staff Reservoir Engineer provides input in the development and administration of plans, policies and programs to optimize business unit assets. As a Staff Reservoir Engineer, you will report to the Reservoir Manager. This position is located at our headquarters in Spring, Texas.

      To be successful in this job you will:

      • Provide technical expertise and support in the estimation of resource potential using both deterministic and probabilistic methods, estimates anticipated production rates for conventional and unconventional plays, analyzes production histories, perform RTA, PTA and gather other information for reservoir characterization, as well as provide sensitivity analysis as required
      • Act as team lead for Asset Team and mentor less experienced staff
      • Provide oil and gas reserve estimates and future production schedules on reserves
      • Conduct reservoir engineering studies
      • Evaluate feasibility and economics of proposed projects
      • Resolve existing or potential reservoir problems
      • Conduct the efficient exploitation of reserves and initiating supplemental recovery methods in assigned areas
      • Participate in reservoir evaluation program and assist in the log analysis, fluid analysis and core analysis efforts
      • Work with geologists and geophysicists to relate geologic and geophysical attributes of the play to reservoir quality
      • Work with production/completion engineers to examine fracture geometry, fracture driven interations and how it relates to well performance
      • Review drilling and completion practices and investigate how they relate to reservoir performance
      • Assess complex problems, challenge conventional thinking and develop creative ideas and solutions
      • Utilize frac propagation models, 3D flow models or emerging multi-physics models.
      • Support a strong atmosphere of co-operation through team efforts and interaction with supporting groups within the organization
      • Actively participate in and support special projects, studies, mentoring, training and personal growth opportunities

        Your Background Includes:

        • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering - Preference B.S. in Petroleum Engineering
        • Ten (10) or more years of direct experience in reservoir engineering and reserve evaluation.
        • Must have a substantial working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, and economic/reservoir analysis software (e.g.; Aries, IHS Harmony, ComboCurve, Whitson+)
        • Knowledge of development planning, well performance evaluation and unconventional reservoir analysis is required, preferably in the Haynesville or Marcellus Shale
        • Experience with comprehensive workflows and tools is desired – log analysis, geo-statistics, reservoir modeling
        • Must be a US Perm Resident or Green Card Holder
