Job Description

- Develop and launch new products by initiating and executing scientific research and/or development strategies and working closely with cross-functional teams including Bioinformatics, Marketing, Technical Support, and/or Operations
- Work with a multidisciplinary technology team for the development of NGS applications
- Independently carry out experimental design and execution, library preparation, instrument operation, data analysis and results reporting
- Develop and evaluate new applications, library preparation technologies, and products
- Ph.D. degree in biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics, or other related fields highly preferred.
- Strong skills in molecular biology (including DNA, RNA and protein handling, PCR, qPCR, quantification methods)
- Hands-on experience in next generation sequencing, including library preparation
- Broad knowledge of sequencing and molecular amplification methods
- Experience with NGS systems, especially Ion Torrent
- Experience with advanced data analysis methods (e.g., R, JMP, Python)
- Experience with Liquid Handler automation and/or Visual Basic
- Basic knowledge of genomics
- Familiarity with product commercialization processes
- Experience leading diverse project teams
- Knowledge of basic data analysis and interpretation (proficient in related Microsoft Office applications)
- Ability to work comfortably in a large and busy laboratory with many other team members
- Ability to travel (up to 25% max)
