      Location/Division Specific Information

      This position is based in the US, remote.

      The Process Liquids Preparation Solutions (PLPS) team is part of the Biologicals and Chemicals Division within the Bioproduction Group. The PLPS Field Applications Scientist (FAS) for the AMER region will be the lead technical interface between the internal team and the external customers, providing technical consulting and troubleshooting to enable our customers to identify the best solutions to meet their needs.

      In this impactful role, the PLPS FAS will engage with a diverse cross-functional team to support the needs of our customers. This role provides the opportunity to work independently and in collaboration with the commercial team to bring solutions to our customers who are developing life-saving biologic therapeutics. Additionally, the PLPS FAS plays a critical role in supporting Product Management by helping to identify new product innovation opportunities.

      A day in the Life:

      • Support the commercial teams by providing exceptional pre-sales support through customer visits, Gemba walks, seminars and conferences.
      • Deliver post-sales support by training customers, providing email and telephone support, and ensuring the resolution of blocking issues through collaboration with multifunctional teams.
      • Organize and lead technical product specification, application and protocol optimization discussions with PLPS customers and prospects.
      • Develop and deliver effective training programs, seminars and workshops on the application and capabilities of PLPS products to external customers and internal colleagues.
      • Convey voice of customer to internal team members and aid in the development of technical sales tools.
      • Establish and maintain core relationships with commercial, product management, project management, feasibility and customer service teams.
      • Act as an internal expert to recommend technical application and product development projects.

      Keys to Success:

      Education

      • Bachelor's degree required, Master’s degree in Life Sciences (Biology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Immunology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Engineering), PhD degree preferred.

      Experience

      • Experience within Academia, Biotech, Biologics, Life Sciences, and/or Biopharmaceutical industries in a technical capacity.
      • Significant relevant experience in biomanufacturing, bioproduction workflow process development and cGMP environments preferred.
      • Experience working closely with customers, commercial teams, and a diverse range of internal teams required.

      Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

      • Knowledge of bioprocess workflow for upstream and downstream applications and relevant process optimization and challenges.
      • Customer interfacing skills and an ability to proactively drive problem solving processes.
      • Ability to communicate technical content for customer meetings, application notes, publications, and/or posters.

      Physical Requirements / Work Environment

      • Flexibility to travel throughout the area of responsibility.

      Compensation and Benefits

      The salary range estimated for this position based in Massachusetts is $103,100.00–$154,700.00.

      This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
