      We are Lockheed Martin

      Lockheed Martin Aeronautics in seeking a full-time Subsystem Design Engineer for the Advanced Development Programs (Skunk Works®) in Palmdale, California. A successful candidate will apply technical expertise in developing solutions to aircraft subsystems design and installation problems. Responsibilities for this position may include:
      - Develop, test, and validate new and modified subsystem designs
      - Troubleshoot system malfunctions to determine root cause and corrective action
      - Create and maintain 3-D CATIA models, assemblies and installations, system requirements, interface/supplier control drawings, performance specifications, system checkout procedures and statements of work
      - Create system requirements, trade studies, sub-component and flight test plans
      - Coordinate with suppliers, internal and external integrated product teams, management and the customer
      - Support manufacturing, ground/flight test and customer operating locations

      Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

From designing the most advanced air vehicle to designing aircraft that defies gravity, our engineers live on the cutting edge of technology. - Bachelor's degree in an engineering technical discipline such as Mechanical, Aerospace, or Aeronautical
      - Experience with 3DX, CATIA, Solidworks, Pro Engineer, Creo, Unigraphics, NX, or equivalent 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) tool
      - Experience creating and/or modifying drawings
      - Experience with aircraft subsystem design, installation, and troubleshooting
      - Hands on experience with aircraft modifications
      - Ability to obtain and maintain Secret Clearance per business requirements - Experience with 3DX or CATIA V5
      - Experience with hand analysis for initial part layout
      - Experience with metallic design
      - Experience with tubing and equipment installation
      - Excellent writing and communication skills
