Staff Software Engineer – Jack Henry & Associates, Inc.– 663 West Highway 60, Monett, MO 65708DUTIES: Oversee the timely, effective, and quality delivery of software into production. Define (or refine) standards for the design and development of software. Collaborate with developers, QA, operations, and management to provide technical direction in requirement analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment. Establish and review business and technical requirements to support feature decomposition, effective communication of acceptance criteria, and well-communicated technical approach throughout the development staff. Define (or refine) standards, conventions, and best practices as well as ensure adherence to standards and facilitate the transfer of knowledge throughout the team. Complete product technical design and prototyping, software development, and bug verification and resolution. Perform system analysis and programming activities, which require extensive research and analysis. Provide technical and engineering support for new and existing applications from code delivery until the retirement of the application. Provide both individual and budget-level tasks and project effort estimates, costs, and oversight. Develop and test applications based on business requirements and industry best practices. Create required technical documentation. Adhere to documented departmental and corporate standards. Oversee the definition and documentation of standards. Contribute to defining and improving department processes. Collaborate with QA team to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products. Collaborate with customer support team to resolve or diagnose defects. Perform release validation testing, beta support, and production support as needed for projects. Research problems and develop solutions to the problems. Conduct unit testing and integration testing for functionality and limits. Assist in training and mentoring less experienced peers. Identify and evaluate new technologies and development environments. Contribute to product architecture. Act as a team lead.REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Applications, Computer Science, or a related technical field required. Ten years of software development or engineering experience required. Must have any experience developing .NET Core applications exposing REST APIs and delivering software in an Agile environment (including automated build/deploy pipelines). Must any have experience with CI/CD, Jenkins, Azure Pipelines, GitLabs, or Octopus. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of experience, employer will accept a Master’s degree in the above-listed fields plus 8 years of engineering or software development experience.
