- Work on network security features on cutting edge system architectures for our next generation firewall products.
- Identify performance bottlenecks, participate in hardware and system algorithm/architecture design, modeling, simulation, and performance evaluation.
- ASIC microcode.
- Develop, document, test, and debug software and corresponding tool chains.
- Conduct research on computer network related algorithms, and propose improvements.
- Solid understanding of computer architecture, network protocols, and related algorithms.
- Background in embedded network platform software experience.
- Experience with designing hardware offload.
- Passion and willingness to learn and explore new technologies and new methodologies.
- Strong with C/C++ and Python programming.
- 10+ years of related experience
- Experience with embedded processors.
- Experience in assembly language.
- B.S. in EE/CS, or related field; M.S. preferred.
Fortinet is looking for a Software Development Engineer to work on our next generation industry leading network security appliances. You will work with both software engineers and ASIC engineers on our flagship products. In this role, you will have the opportunities to both obtain high level view of sophisticated network security systems and code product features line by line.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $140,000-$190,000. Fortinet offers employees a variety of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k), 11 paid holidays, vacation time, and sick time as well as a comprehensive leave program.
Wage ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, and job level. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate's subject knowledge, skill level, qualifications, experience, and geographic location.
All roles are eligible to participate in the Fortinet equity program, Bonus eligibility is reviewed at time of hire and annually at the Company’s discretion.
