5184 QA Lead - Wireless Test Engineering Location: Bengaluru Job Description: We are looking for a Software Quality Assurance Wireless test Engineering lead. Wireless team at NETGEAR is going through a revolutionary change to provide best in class WLAN solutions for SMB market. NETGEAR is the leading provider of networking technology for small businesses, the smart home and online game play, today. The Wireless Test Engineering Lead will be responsible for designing and driving strategy for all high end Access Point modules adhering to the internal processes/objectives. The Lead engineer is responsible for research, design, and development of test methodologies for AP modules. S/he would need to work with multiple chipsets across wireless technologies and plan the appropriate high volume test strategy. This position will support multiple product lines from the Hardware Technology organization from early concept through MP. The Wireless test engineering lead will utilize a solid RF background to understand technical details, issues and risks. Responsibilities: Own and Drive Quality Assurance strategy, approach and execution in NETGEAR SMB wireless. Provide technical leadership and expertise in the field of Quality Assurance and Testing. Willingness to take ownership of projects and drive them to completion. Must be a motivated self-starter with the ability to build processes from ground level, ability to coordinate between cross-functional teams and work in a fast-paced environment with frequent software releases. Creative thinker and strong problem solver with meticulous attention to detail. Qualifications: Deep understanding of WiFi technologies. Minimum 8 years in Software Testing and 5 Year in Wireless AP testing. Extraordinary skill in problem solving and optimization. Very self-driven and self-motivated. Capable of leading a team and setting test strategies. Skilled at driving cross-functional decision and cooperating with other test teams (upstream/downstream) for a sound end-to-end product test strategy. Experience in ATDD (Acceptance Test-Driven Development), and TDD (Test-driven development) on WiFi access points or WiFi products. Expert in working with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Buddy, CruiseControl, and GoCD. Expertise in automation with Python for GUI / API /CLI interfaces of embedded systems. Expertise in Automation Framework Development (ROBOT Framework), and selenium. Network protocols like TCP/IP, FTP, DHCP, HTTP, Routing/switching protocols (OSPF, BGP, IS-IS, STP, VLAN) , Campus networking and WLAN knowledge is also an big advantage. Experience with various test tools like traffic generators such as IX chariot, iperf, Veriwave, Spirent, protocol analyzers such as Wireshark, tcpdump, Ethereal.
