- Maintains unit specific information related to requests for holidays worked and other schedule components for use by clinical directors.
- Completes schedule utilizing scheduling software by calling staff, utilizing float and resource personnel.
- Monitors future staffing shortages and utilizes software to appropriately fill holes.
- Maintains the PRN 4 roster and schedules staff to fill holes in schedule.
- Receives call from nursing operations leaders or patient care area managers of sick calls and secures replacement staffing where needed.
- Commuicates with nursing agencies to fill open shifts or cancel as needed to promote fiscal responsibility.
- Update and maintain agency information such as phone numbers, licenses, and certification as needed.
- Creates and adjusts all schedules to assure appropriate staffing.
- Utilizes stated pay rules to appropriate award bonuses and other extra pay.
- Updates employee work preference data, certifications and synergy levels.
- Modifies schedules based on open shift reports and other data to assure shift coverage.
- Optimizes nurse staffing hours based on committment level.
- Attends Optimizing Patient Flow and Code White throughput emergencies and provides information on staffing and scheduling. Follows up with assignments.
- 2 to 3 years of undergraduate education or equivalent.
- Must demonstrate thorough working knowledge of the practices in a specialized field.
- More than one up to three years of related work experience required, demonstrating a working knowledge of the job responsibilities and methods.
- Experience with Kronos scheduler a plus.
